Last Man Standing

It’s safe to say Liverpool stung a lot of us this week! We had a total of 107 gone last weekend leaving 113 still left to play. Please have your selections in by 6pm next Monday as there is no fixtures this weekend.

First aid/ Defibrillator course

The club are working to organise a training and refresher course on the use of the defibrillator. It will be run in clones on the 15th of February. We hope to have as many possible to receive what could be lifesaving training. Anyone who wishes to do so, please contact Margaret Tierney on, 00447714100562 before the 8th of February.

Social night

Our annual dinner dance will be held on the 11th of February in the Skule Inn. This year we have decided to take a different approach to encourage more of our members to attend in organising a Fun night out with a night at the races (with a difference).

The plan is to have 6 exercise bikes on the stage with 6 different competitors. They have 1 minute to go as hard as possible and whoever has travelled the furthest distance after the minute is declared the winner.

If we think some may be stronger than other we will be adjusting the tension on the bikes to make sure it’s fair!!

With a series of qualifier’s and semi final’s to compete for a spot in the final. We also hope to have the bookies with us on the night if you fancy a little flutter

We have plenty of family races organised also which should provide great entertainment.

Feel free to bring along friends and family as we hope to bring some new members of the community in.

Keep an eye out on our facebook page over the next week as we announce our Competitors looking to take the title as Smithboro’s fittest family!

Smithboro Walking Club

Well done to everyone who walked last week, please try to bring a friend along with you next time and let’s double our numbers! Walking takes place every Monday and every Thursday at 7.30pm sharp and every Saturday at 9.30am sharp. There is NO official sign-in, just meet at the entrance door of Smithboro Hall. New members always welcome.
