Monaghan Awards night.

Congratulations to Ray Mc Carron who was inducted into the Monaghan GAA Hall of Fame at the very successful awards night last Friday. Also, well done to Dick Clerkin who was the recipient of a special presentation in recognition of his record breaking contribution to Monaghan football at senior level for the past eighteen years.

Youth Affairs

The Currin Under 12 Team from 2016 will be presented with their Shield Runner Up medals on Sunday morning 29th January at 12 noon in the Community Hall, Scotshouse. All are welcome.

Currin are currently starting preparations for the 2017 Season and will be arranging for relevant personnel to attend a three hour Child Protection Course which is mandatory for all people working with children in the GAA. If it has been over three years since you attended one of these, it is best practice to renew. Please contact Fintan to put your name down for one of these.

The Féile na nÓg Under 14 competition will take place in June and Currin are participating as an amalgamation with Aghabog GFC. We will be hosting 12

members of a visiting team (6 X 2) and we are seeking 6 volunteer families to host for two nights in June (a Friday and Saturday). Contact either Ben, Fintan or club Chairman, John.

The club are seeking more people to assist with the coaching of our youth teams. This year in particular we are hoping that new people will come forward to help out.

Best wishes

Currin GFC extend our best wishes to Conor McCaffrey and Melissa West who ‘tie the knot’ on Friday next. As a result training has been relocated to Cavan where the emphasis will be on stamina and endurance.
