Blackhill Club Notes

January 18th, 2017

Centenary Dinner Dance: Will take place in the Glencarn Hotel on Saturday the 11th of February.  The club invites each member of the club to come along and join in the crack on what promises to be an enjoyable night; recollecting last year’s events on the field and the many different tales from the club’s foundation in late 1916. Gaels from far and wide are also encouraged to come along on the night. Tickets for this night are priced at 30 euro each and are available in the Social Centre which is opened from 8.30pm each evening.

Intermediate Championship: With the McKenna Cup now in full flow, attention is slowly but surely turning back to the football field. The draw for this year’s championship took place on Monday evening past. Blackhill’s name entered the Intermediate hat for the first time since 1953, when they won the Intermediate Double! Eager to come out of the hat, Blackhill’s name appeared 3rd. This means they will enter into one of two preliminary rounds and face Carrickmacross with the winners to play Inniskeen or Toome.

New Bar Management: The club welcomes Marie Murphy and Paul Murphy into their new position behind the bar. Familiar faces to most, we hope that they settle into the role with ease and enjoy themselves along the way. Go n-éirí an bothar libh!
