Emyvale GAA Club Notes for Thursday 15th December

Hi Everyone,

Sean Mc Meel here your PRO for 2017,

This is my first go at this so bear with me and we will start with the Juveniles,

Forde Cup

The final of the Forde Cup took place in Tully on Sunday afternoon with four teams all looking to lift the cup. Great football was played in the two semi-finals, leading to the final of the shield and the cup. In a close and exciting match the shield final was a draw at half time but the Blue team played with determination to win the game. In the cup final, a tense match was played with the yellow team leading for most of the match, but an equalising point in the final minutes gave the game an exciting finish with Orange team scoring the final point of the game and making them the winners on the day. Medals and the cup were presented by our guest of honour Gerald Forde. A great family day was had by all and credit to the organisers for a successful tournament. A word of thanks must go to Peadar McMahon from emyvale.net who took the photographs at the final. We look forward to the next year’s cup and shield challenge!

Juvenile Club Nursery Programme finished up for Christmas last Saturday morning well done to everyone who took part. A work of thanks to Shane Mc Cormack for running this programme, well done Shane.

Coaching Courses

There are some upcoming Foundation and Level One Courses which will take place within the county from now until the end of March 2017, if anyone is interested in enrolling for one of these courses or getting involved with a team for next year please contact Martin O’Brien 0876721981.

Coaching workshops will be delivered in the county over the next few months with the assistance from Ulster Council coaching staff. These workshops are indoor & free of charge and workshops are as follows;

Wed 1st Feb 2017 – Monaghan County Training Grounds Cloghan – Kicking for scores – 7:30-9pm

Wed 22nd Feb 2017 – Kicking for possession – 7:30-9pm

Wed 15th Mar 2017 – Performance analysis – 7:30-9pm

Bingo: This week and next week will be our Christmas Bingo with hampers and prizes, tonight in Emyvale Leisure Centre starting at 9pm. Rota: Vincie Mc Anespie.
