McElvaney Waste & Recycling Championship Semi-Final

Our focus, this weekend, will obviously turn to the McElvaney Waste & Recycling intermediate football championship semi-final where we go head to head with Tyholland this Saturday 8th October. Given the occasion I sincerely hope that the lads will have a double serving of Weetabix for breakfast because it’s not going to be easy! The game has been fixed for Pairc Mhuire, Scotstown and throw-in time has been confirmed for 2.15pm, so I guess there’s no lie-in! Tyholland have been very consistent performers throughout the league campaign and have produced some very strong performances in seeing off some tough opposition. They have quality players and if you look at the form book they are sitting nicely at the top of the intermediate league table and will be formidable opponents. This has all the ingredients to be another fascinating encounter and I believe the game should come with a ‘Health Warning’ because it’s going to be close, it’s going to exciting, it’s going to be tense and yes off-course it’s going to be damn nerve-wracking…there goes my blood pressure again!!! It’s going to take a massive effort from everyone and on that note I want to extend my best wishes to Mickey, Jimmy, Pascal and all the players. Good luck lads, you have the ability, you have worked hard all year now go out and do yourselves and your families proud. All the best lads and as I always say, leave every ounce of energy you have out on the playing pitch, empty the tank, as they say, and have no bloody regrets. If you can do that then hopefully that will be good enough come Saturday evening. Good Luck.

Show Your Support

Okay folks, it’s time to get behind the team and I want to urge all our club member & supporters to get behind the lads this Saturday and make the short trip to Pairc Mhuire, Scotstown. It would be great to see huge support there for the lads in this massive game so come on everybody be that extra man and let me hear you cheer, shout and roar on the lads…“Come on ROCKCORRY”

Féile 2017 – Hosting

In 2017 Cavan, Fermanagh and Monaghan will be hosting the Féile Na nÓg. Host clubs are paired with a visiting team. The players (2 players per family) and mentors from the visiting teams stay with members of the host club, and games take place on the host club’s pitch. Host families should be well known to club officials and are required to comply with vetting procedures. It would be a shame to deny our young players the opportunity to play in the national tournament and if we decide to enter a team then we must be prepared to host a visiting club. We are now looking for a minimum twelve (12) families to volunteer to host two players each for Feile on Friday 23rd June, Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th June 2017. Families will be expected to register their interest shortly so please give it some consideration and get in touch with myself on 086-1041165 if you have any questions or require any additional information.
