Latton GAA Club Club Notes – Week Beginning 19th September 2016

Lotto Results-Numbers drawn on Monday 12th September were 11-18-4-13 ,Bonus 14 . No Jackpot winner . The €20 winners were Martin & Mary Coyle Mahon,Denise McCabe Mountlodge,Sarah McGuigan Newbliss,Brenda Rice Latton,Sean Eggo Cootehill

U14’s

Well done to our U14 Division 1 Team who played in League final last Saturday in Corduff. A very competitive and close game of football seen Donaghmoyne emerge by a 4 point Margin. Well done to all our Players who put in a brilliant performance on the day . A great achievement to get to this year Division 1 Final and you can all hold your head high with your performance.

U16 Football Championship

Well done to our U16’s who reached the League Final last Tuesday in Latton with a win over Sean Mc Dermott’s on a brilliant scoreline of Latton 5-14 – Sean’s 1-05. Good Luck in Saturday’s Final . No Venue as yet at time of going to press.

Senior League

Latton travelled to Clontibret Last Saturday for an away Senior Legaue Fixture.The Team lined out with Sean Farmer,Dermot o’Brien,Conor Lynch,Owen Coyle,Thomas Lynch,Ciaran Duffy,Eddie Lennon,Stephen mcElroy,Owen Duffy,Stephen Fitzpatrick,Aidan Farmer,Christopher Rice,Stephen mcCabe,Shane Coyle & Hughie Mc Elroy. Clontibret started the game with a Flying start going 1-01 to no score within 6 Minutes of the off. Latton Regrouped and turned the tide… with a point and a very well taken Goal from Hughie Mc Elroy.This was followed by a Stephen mc Cabe point and another from Hughie to leave them 1-03 to 1-01 ahead.Latton continued to take their scores well with points from Christopher Rice,Owen Duffy & Stephen mc Cabe. Clontibret the hit a point over but this was once again followed up by scores from Hughie Mc Elroy & Owen Duffy to leave half time score Latton 1-08 – Clontibret 1-03. Clontibret were first off the mark once agin in the 2nd Half with a quick point but Latton’s Hughie Mc Elroy & Owen Duffy slotted over 2 more scores. Clontibret got on the scoring sheet next but once agin the scoring duo of Hughie Mc and Owen Duffy Traded points to leave Latton 1-12 to 1-05 up. Clontibret pointed next however three more scores followed from Stephen Mc Cabe ,Kieran Duffy ,Owen Duffy & Christopher Rice.Clontibret hit another point but once again this was answered by scores from Stephen & Hughie Mc Elroy to leave score Latton 1-18 to Clontibret 1-07. The final 4 Scores of the game went to Clontibret to leave Latton running out winners 1-18 to 1-11. Subs used on day were Damien Duffy,Paul Fitzpatrick,Daire Quinn,Mark Duffy and Patrick Shannon.

Next League game is home v Castleblayney on Saturday 24th September at 3.00pm.
