Emyvale Club Notes

September 22nd, 2016

Emyvale GAA Club Notes for Thursday 22nd September

Intermediate Championship: Emyvale made their exit from this year’s Intermediate Championship at the hands of Tyholland on Saturday evening last. The first half was evenly contested with Michael Flannery scoring a great goal & Paudie Hayes bringing off a magnificent save to put Emyvale one point ahead at the break. They added another from the throw in but then Tyholland took over hitting eight points without reply & the writing was on the wall for Emyvale. Tyholland were deserving winners & we wish them the best of luck in the next round.

Intermediate League: Emyvale travel to Killanny on Sunday next with a throw in time of 12.30pm. It’s an early start but please go along & support our team.

Emylott: No Jackpot winner. No Match 3’s. 5 Lucky Dip Winners: Nan Ruddin, Castleblayney; Barbara Reay, Monaghan; The Brady Bunch, Clones; Barry Mc Carron, Ballinode (Y); Genie & Anna Mc Kenna, Pullis (Y). Promoters: Michael Mc Carron, Janice Cassidy. Yearly Promoter: Michael Mc Carron. Numbers 8, 11, 17 23.

Bingo: Bingo as usual tonight Thursday in Emyvale Leisure Centre.

BC Blitz sponsored by Moran Travel

We held our 13th Annual BC Blitz last Saturday 17th September and with 28 teams taking part, it proved

again to be a very successful and well supported tournament. After the group stages 14 teams played in

the Cup competition with Eglish & last year’s runners up Keady making it through to the cup final with

Eglish running out eventual winners. 14 teams played in the Shield competition with Monaghan Harps

& Clones making it through to the Shield final with Monaghan Harps coming away with the honours

on this occasion. The winners of the skills competition were Culloville.

Special thanks to Moran Travel for their generous sponsorship of the tournament. A huge word of thanks must be extended to everyone who helped out at this tournament be it car parking, pitch co-ordinating, recording match scores, electrical work, refeering, supplying goal posts, Red Cross, supplying serving & cooking food, Aghaloo for their barbeque, shop assistants, because without all your help this event would not be possible. A special word of thanks must go to the Colton Family who turn up in strength every year and their enthusiasm is reflected in the success of the tournament. Finally the tireless work behind the scenes by our Juvenile Secretary Aine Sheehan fundamental in the efficient running of this event and her work is very much appreciated.
