Emyvale GAA Club Notes for Thursday 15th September

Apologies: Sorry for no notes last week. I went in for a couple of wee repair jobs & it took longer that expected.

Intermediate Championship: Emyvale meet Tyholland this Saturday evening in the Mc Elvaneys Recycling & Waste Intermediate Championship in St Mellans with a throw in time of 5.30pm. In their league encounters this year, Emyvale won in Tyholland & Tyholland won in Emyvale so all to play for on Saturday. We wish the boys the best of luck & hope they can progress to the semi-final. Please go along & support our team.

Intermediate League: Emyvale hosted Donaghmoyne in the Intermediate League on Saturday evening last & both teams provided an entertaining, end to end game. Donaghmoyne won by a margin of two points but Emyvale squandered a few chances at the end to close the game out. They made some basic errors during the game that resulted in Donaghmoyne scores but it was a good team performance with many positive aspects.

Congratulations: Wishing many years of health & happiness to former player Michael Mc Crudden, Knocknagrave & Therese Curley, former ladies player who were married last week.

Emylott: Week ended 4th September: No Jackpot winner. 2 Match 3’s: Margaret Mc Geough, Oriel Park, Emyvale; Alice Connolly, Annagh, Emyvale. Promoters: Janice Cassidy, Ryan Mulligan. Yearly Promoter: Paul Mc Carron. Numbers 7, 8, 26 28.

Emylott: Week ended 11thth September: No Jackpot winner. 3 Match 3’s: Tony Reynolds, Kilnadrain; Willie Hayden, Wexford; Brendan Connolly, Tirnaneil (Y). Promoters: Janice Cassidy, Padraig Hughes. Yearly Promoter: Raymond Kelly & Nicholas Mc Mahon. Numbers 1, 11, 17, 18. Rota: Arthur Sherry, Malachy Mc Carey.

Bingo: Bingo as usual tonight Thursday in Emyvale Leisure Centre.

Juveniles:

U-14 Emyvale played Latton in the Division 5 Shield Final last Saturday in Scotstown and had a

fantastic win on a score line of 3-16 to 4-04. Well done to all our players, managers, coaches, mentors,

medical staff and parents for their commitment throughout the year. Best wishes on a speedy recovery

to Luke Kelly who was injured during the game.

U-16 Division 2 contested the Championship final for a second year in a row last Saturday in

Scotstown. Unfortunately they could not emulate the success of our U-14 team earlier in the day and were

defeated by a better Latton team on a score line 2-15 to 0-09. Well done to all to everyone involved

with the team on reaching the final and their hard work throughout the year. Hopefully they had

success in the League Semi Final which was away against Donaghmoyne on Tuesday evening, full

report next in weeks notes.

This year’s BC Blitz sponsored by Moran Travel takes place this Saturday 17th September. With over

30 teams confirmed it will be a busy day so anyone who is available to help please come along and

lend your support. We need people early Saturday morning to help with the parking, organising pitches

and from 11am onwards to help with the food. Anyone who available to make sandwiches or donate

buns/biscuits please bring them along on Saturday morning.

Training for U-10’s, U-8’s Nursery on Friday evenings 7-8pm.

U-8 had their last Go Games blitz of the year last Saturday in Tyholland, well done to everyone who

took part.

U-10 took part in Go Games blitz last weekend in Truagh, well done to both teams who took part. Next

Go Games blitz will take place on Saturday 24th September in Tyholland 10-12pm.

U-11 BC Blitz teams please assemble in Tully for 9.30am on Saturday morning for registration, first

game throwing in at 10am sharp.

U-12 training will continue ahead of the forthcoming blitzes.
