Senior’s

Jfl 3rd round v Blackhill

Sunday morning seen us take on Blackhill in what was expected to be a tuff affair it was all that. From the throw in we just couldn’t get a grip of the game as the away side dominated the game in most positions and were soon showing that on the score board. To make matters worse we were reduced to 14 men after 20 mins which left a real uphill battle and the score line was 10 points to 3 in favour of the away side.

A strong fightback was needed in the 2nd half and that’s what happened with Micky Tierney causing proving a real hand full every time he ran at the defence with brilliant support from Cory Mc Aree and Connor leonard . It wasn’t long until Donal Tierney got onto the ball and with only 1 thing on his mind rattled the back of the net and got the game to within 3 points. Unfortunately that was as good as it got and we just left too much to do.

Final score Eire og 2-08 Blackhill 2-12

Next up is the Championship this coming Saturday V Toome in Cremartin with a throw in at 5.30pm.

As always all support needed.

U14’s

Our u14’s had the 2nd play off game in the shield at home against Doohamlet.

We started well put the away side proved a lot stronger for our lads and built up a lead to leave too much to do in the 2nd half. James hughes wasn’t letting the so called bigger fella’s push him around and threw himself into tackles and got himself a fantastic score. Other great performances came from Patrick Lambe and Dillon Corley while Ben Monaghan showed great heart with some brilliant support run’s all evening. Caolan Gavin was the main threat for some fantastic scores while Mathew

Mc bride and Kyle Mc Aree put in a great shift in the middle of the park. This result brings an end to our u14’s league but hopefully we should manage a few challenge matches to finish the year off.

Ladies

Hard luck to our Senior ladies who lost out to a much stronger Donaghmoyne team last Sunday. It’s a great achievement for this young bunch of ladies and it proves all the hard work going into the juveniles is paying off.

All Ireland final tickets

The club are raffling 2 tickets for this years all Ireland final with tickets at €2 each or 3 for €5 and are available from any committee members or players.

Sympathy

The club would like to send its deepest sympathy to the Connolly family on the death of Philip Connolly, as a mark of respect a minutes silence was held last Sunday before our Senior game.
