Doohamlet GFC Notes

Seniors: Doohamlet played our neighbours and County finalists Clontibret on Sunday morning last and went down by five points. With a near gale force wind blowing this was a game of two halves with Doohamlet having advantage in the first half. Having dominated possession the home side went in at the break only four points ahead and this lead was soon erased as Clontibret took control in the second half and ran out 1-05 to 0-13 winners.

Clontibret surprisingly played their strongest team and paid a heavy price losing Dessie Mone to injury. We wish Dessie a speedy recovery and wish Clontibret all the best in the final on Sunday next.

Our next game is on Sunday 9th Oct when we travel away to Latton.

PJ Memorial Blitz: The PJ Marray Memorial Blitz will take place this Saturday Oct 1st beginning at 12 noon in O’Neill Park.

Lorcan Duffy Memorial: Big Day at Mannon Castle Golf Club on Saturday next Oct 1st where all golfers will compete in the Lorcan Duffy Memorial Cup Classic in association with SOSAD. Team of 4 is €160 and anyone interested please contact Greg Duffy 0872516338 or Dessie McBennett 087983786.
