Doohamlet GFC Notes

Seniors: Doohamlet Seniors travelled to St Marys Park on Saturday last for this local derby and gave the high flying Faughs a very competitive game. Blayney started the much brighter and found their scores easier and when Dermot Malone found the Doohamlet net an easy win looked likely. However Doohamlet settled and with scores from Jamie Walshe, Barry McBennett and Mark Murphy went in at the break only four points in arrears.

Blayney struck early on the resumption with a very controversial penalty but Doohamlet dug deep and reduced the deficit again to three points going into the final quarter. Niall Johnny caused havoc in the Blayney defence scoring four points from play. To their credit Doohamlet battled to the end, even missing a penalty and further scores from Michael Marray, Barry McBennett and Conor Marray left the full time score Blayney 2-11 Doohamlet 0-12

Doohamlet have a home game on Sunday next when we entertain Clontibret with throwin 12 noon.

Lorcan Duffy Memorial Cup: Our Annual Golf Classic for the Lorcan Duffy Memorial Cup takes place on Saturday 1st October in Mannan Castle. We invite every Club and Golfer to take part in this very unique Golf Challenge, where a number of prizes are on offer. Team of four is €160.
