Castleblayney Faughs Club Notes, 30th August 2016

Senior Men: The Senior team had a disappointing result last Saturday night when they went down to Carrick in the replayed League game, the Faughs never got going and Carrick ran out worthy winners on a Score line of Carrick 3-12 Faughs 0-16.We now travel to our old friends Scotstown this Friday evening (change to original fixture) at 6.45pm in an effort to secure two valuable points.

Training now takes a break for a few weeks; we will update everyone on our plans for our Winter Programme shortly.

Under 12 Girls: Our under 12 girls had a brilliant match against Magheracloone last Monday evening, in a match which was very competitive a draw was a fair result. The Girls are scheduled to play Donaghmoyne this Sunday but we are awaiting confirmation of the fixture from the County Board.

Girls Under 14 Final: The Final of the Under 14 Girls Championship is down for decision on Monday the 5th of September when we meet the league champions Donaghmoyne with a throw in time of 6.45pm. Can we ask that everyone attends the final to give the Girls as much support as possible.

Boys Under 14: Hard luck to our Development team who exited this year’s Division 5 Cup competition last Friday evening when they were beaten by Carrick by three points, the Senior team won the Under 14 Division 2 Shield Final last Sunday evening when they played Magheracloone in Donaghmoyne. The Faughs started well and led by 5 at half time, the second half saw these young Faughs players empty the Tank as they kept Magheracloone at bay to win on a score line of Faughs 0-12 Magheracloone 1-07. Well done to all the players and Managers.

Boys Under 16: The lads played out a very entertaining draw last Thursday evening away to Aughnamullen, these are two good side who have both got some fine talent on display, well done to the Faughs team on scoring the last three points to draw the match, the result now means that both sides will meet in the final of the league.
