Please come out and support the maroon & white as they aim to reach the final for the first time since claiming Mick back in 2012.

Fixtures: On Saturday afternoon the Ballybay U14 team take on Tyholland in the Gerry’s Prepared Veg Division 4 league final in Carrickmacross. Throw in time at 13.15pm. Please come out and support the further of the club as they aim to make history by claiming the league 7 championship double on Saturday. Best wishes to all involved.

Results: It was a mixed week for the club with the St Pats minor team narrowly losing out to Clontibret in the league final Last Tuesday night. The lads raced into an early lead & seemed to be in complete control before Clontibret responded eventually running out winners in an entertaining game of football. There was some great individual displays throughout and with a lot of the team still minor next year hopefully they can go on and claim silverware they so desperately seek. On Saturday evening the senior team run out comfortable winner against Traugh in the Monaghan Credit Union Senior Football league. Management will be satisfied with the result but will be delighted to come through it with no major injury worries ahead of this weekends clash.

Best wishes to club Dr Barry Duffy who’s captains day for the Ballybay Golf Society is taking place this Saturday in Concra Wood with the presentation of prizes & dinner dance taking place in the club rooms on Saturday night. Everyone associated with the club hopes you have a fantastic day & would like to thank you for all your hard work throughout the year Barry.

Double congratulation: First to be congratulated is John Rutledge who’s photograph of Derryvalley Church has made it into the final rounds of Monaghan Tourism photo competition. As you all know, John is a very keen photographer and is often seen at Ballybay games capturing some wonder moments for which the club is extremely grateful. Our second congratulations goes to David McGregor Senior, who has been nominated for a coaching award in the Northern Ireland Coaching Awards 2016. Davy was nominated for this wonderful work on the rugby where he has worked wonders in Monaghan for many a year and more recently in Cavan in both the mens & ladies games. We wish you all the best David. Keep up the great work both men.

Monster Raffle: As your well by now the club are running a monster raffle with a prize pot to the valve of €10,000. Tickets are priced at €20 each or 3 for €50, with the draw taking place on the 28th of October in the club rooms. On top of the great prizes there is also an early bird draw, taking place at bingo on Tuesday the 13th of September. Prize for the early birds is 2 All Ireland Football final tickets between Dublin & Mayo. This is the last week to enter this part of the draw so please contact any seller if you wish to have you name in the hat.

Bingo: Just a quick note to remind everyone that the club’s weekly Bingo takes place every Tuesday night at 9pm in the clubhouse. The bingo is a great opportunity for the community to come together midweek and have a good night while maybe even winning a few bob. This is a fundamental part of the club’s fund raising for day-to-day costs and we would all really appreciate if you, your friends or your family could support this if you can at all. And, don’t forget, there is transport available to the centre. Every week, our volunteers go to great efforts to keep this going so that all of the other voluntary members of the club have a good starting platform. Hope to see some new faces tomorrow night and over the coming weeks.

If you would like to get items into the club notes please contact Niall Duffy by 8pm on Monday evening and he’ll gladly include.
