Latton GAA Club Club Notes – Week Beginning 23rd August 2016

Lotto Results-Numbers drawn on Monday 23rd August were 24-28-20-2,Bonus 12 . No Jackpot winner . The €20 winners were Patrick Black,Latton , Ivan Fitzpatrick,Latton, Alan Wright,Corwillan,Ballybay, Eimear McMahon,Swanns Cross, Raymond McCormack,Cootehil.

Minor Football League

Our minor team had a good win last Tuesday 16th August over Doohamlet 2-14 to 2-08.Latton turned around a deficit at half time to use the strong wind to gain the upper hand.Latton scorers were Conor Mc Cabe 1-05,Niall Maguire 1-01,Dylan Quinn 0-02,Shane Duffy 0-01,Aaron Mulligan 0-03,Cathal Lennon 0-01,Padraig Hughes 0-01. They played the final last Tuesday 23rd v Sean Mc Dermott’s –see Results in Media.

U16 Football Championship

Latton’s Division 2 Championship Final v Donaghmoyne has been fixed for Saturday 10th September –time and venue to be advised later. Latton played away v Emyvale last Thursday 18th and had a good win on score line of Latton 5-23 to Emyvale 3-03 to reach the league Final.

Senior Championship

Latton travelled to Clontibret last Sunday evening to play Magheracloone in the Senior Championship. Latton started well with 3 quick points however these were followed by 5 unanswered Magheracloone points. Latton edged back in front with a Darren McElroy goal and Hughie Mc Elroy point. The next period of the game seen Magheracloone score 7 unanswered points to lead 0-12 to 1.04 at half time. Both teams traded points in the second half but Latton were unable to get the upper hand . Our scorers on the day were Hughie Mc Elroy 0-06,Shane Coyle 0-02,Darren McElroy 1-00,Aiden Framer 0-01,Owen Duffy 0-01,Stephen mc Cabe 0-01. The game ended in final score of Latton 1-13 – Magheracloone 1-13.

Latton now face Clontibret next Sunday 28th in Castleblayney at 1.15.
