Latton GAA Club Club Notes – Week Beginning 16th August 2016

U12’s

Latton’s Final game in the U12 Football League Cup v Ballybay has been fixed for 7pm in Latton on Wednesday 23rd August 2016.

U16 Football Championship

Latton’s Division 2 Championship Final v Donaghmoyne has been fixed for Saturday 10th September –time and venue to be advised later.

Senior Championship

Latton travelled to Castleblayney this evening to play Scotstown in the Senior Championship .Latton were first off the mark with a Owen Duffy point .Scotstown hit back with the next 2 scores .Darren McElroy raced through the defence to score a well taken goal .After 11 minutes Hughie McElroy pointed to leave a goal between the teams .Scotstown scored 4 quick points to leave them 1 point to the good . Hughie McElroy pointed to level the game but once again Scotstown hit back w…ith 2 points to lead 0-08 to 1-03.Latton then hit a scoring patch with points from Stephen MC Cabe ,Hughie McElroy(2) and Owen Coyle to go 2 points up on score 1-07 to 0-08 .Scotstown scored the final point of the 1st half to leave Half time score 1-07 to 0-09 in favour of Latton .The 2nd half Seen Latton score first with a Hughie McElroy point .Scotstown hit back with another score but were followed up by points from Owen Duffy and Bernard O’Brien.Scotstown pointed next followed by a Shane Coyle point and Hugie MC once again pointing .Scotstown pointed to leave a goal between the sides .Stephen Fitzpatrick pointed twice to seal the game for Latton with Scotstown scoring a final point to leave final score Latton 1-14 – Scotstown 0-13.

We now play Magheracloone on Sunday 21st August in Clontibret at 6.30

Fr.Kevin Malcomsim in Bawn-Fr.Kevin Malcolmson,Aghabog and Swanns Cross,newly ordainded to the Priesthood on Sunday last,will celebrate mass in St.Patrick’s Church,Bawn on Sunday 21st. August at 10am.Refreshments,music and entertainment in Derrygooney Community Centre afterwards,everyone welcome.
