LADIES

Junior Championship:

Last Thursday, Corduff Ladies travelled to Latton to play them in the Junior Championship Semi-Final. Having a clean sheet of 4 wins out of 4 to date in the League Corduff were optimistic going into this local derby. Latton were first on the scoreboard and totally dominated the first half with Corduff scoring their only point of the half in the third minute.

After the restart Latton continued to add to their account. Following some good spells of possession Corduff created  scores but the scores were hard earned and the margin  too wide and with Latton more clinical the hosts cruised to victory thus bringing the curtain  down on Corduff’s championship dreams for this season.

The team was as follows; Alana Kernan; Ciara McEnaney, Leone Callan, Sinead Loughlin; Hannah Finegan, Sarah McEnaney, Niamh Callan; Eva Woods, Barbara Ward; Elena McEnaney, Keely Culleton, Fiona Patton; Sinead McEneaney, Emma Byrne and Claire Connolly. Subs were Laura McEnaney, Dearbhla Callan, Emma Lowndes, Rosie Fox, Eibhlin Clinton and Joeanne Marron.

Thanks to the management team for their efforts to date. It was great to see so many girls togged out in the Corduff colours but unfortunately things didn’t go according to plan so it’s back to league action in the coming weeks.
