U-12’s

Unfortunately the U-12’s season ended prematurely on Saturday when they lost out to Magheracloone on a scoreline of 4-05 to 1-05.The lads had a great year winning 6 games en-route to the semi-final. The future is very bright for these lads and great credit must be given to James Kierans and his management team who done tremendous work with the lads over the year.

U-16’s

Last Saturday saw the lads play Tyholland in the Division 3 championship final. The game did not start as planned with two early goals leaving them trailing 2-04 to 0-02 early on. To the lads great credit they fought back and looked the match of their opponents towards the end of the half with the scoreline at 2-08 to 0-07. The second half started as planned with Jamie McQuillan getting on the end of a move to expertly place the ball by the onrushing keeper. Unfortunately from there a very strong Tyholland team put their foot on the gas and eventually ran out convincing winners. Our lads fought them every inch of the way and they have the shield final coming up so hopefully they can finish the year out on a strong footing. The lads and their Management team of Tom Kelly, Pat Larmer, Adam Langan, and Ryan Comiskey deserve great credit for turning their season around and reach two finals. Team and Scorers: Jamie Scott, Simon O’Connell, Regan Graham, Conall Smith, Aiden Doherty, Alan Curley (0-06), Rian Kierans (0-01), Evin Quigley (0-01), Kevin Coogan, Jamie McQuillan (1-03), Matthew Monaghan. Subs Kevin O’Reilly, Dwayne Reavey, Shane Potter, Eanna Kilpatrick, James Donaghy, Ben Slowey, Niall McKenna, Oisin Kierans, John McDonnell, Jack Corr, Harry Cleary.

Seniors

Had a good win away to Eire Og on Sunday afternoon. The lads had a good first half and went in at the break in front by 1-09 to 1-06. Clones started the second half brightly and were four points up when reduced to 14 men early in the second half. The lads showed great guts and determination though as from here they never looked in trouble and when Fabian Beggan showed great composure to get Clones second goal the game was settled. Clones eventually ran out winners on a scoreline of 2-17 to 1-12. Next up for the lads is the visit of Oram at 12.30 in St Tiernachs Park. Hopefully the lads will be able to get 2 much needed points.
