Cill Laobhain 1.06 V 0.12 Sean MacDiarmada. Away game against Sean MacDermott’s in Threemilehouse Sunday 29th May.

Our lads made the short trip to Threemilehouse to play near neighbours Sean MacDiarmada’s. From a Cill Laobhain point of view the only thing of note in the first half was a very harsh Black card against our midfielder Ryan Tierney. We simply weren’t in the game for the first 30 minutes and this was reflected in the scoreboard 0.10 v 0.02 at half time. Thankfully this poor play didn’t continue for the second 30. A much better Killeevan showed up for the second half and with an early goal by Eddie McGinn na Sáirséalaigh set out for an unlikely comeback. Cill Laobhain constantly pushed forward and yet still defended well. A penalty award after Michael Smith was hauled down in the box could have seen things level. However a save by Sean’s keeper was the outcome. There followed a red card, leaving us down to 14 still with 12 minutes to go. But heart and determination was shown throughout and we still pushed hard to get something out of the game. A last minute clearance off the Sean’s goal line, from a great effort by Darren McConnon sealed our fate. Hugely positive second half, despite set backs 100% was given by all on the field. Maith sibh uilig.
