CLUB RESULTS
SENIORS
Well done to our senior team who got off to a great start in the senior championship on Saturday last. Magheracloone travelled to Aughnamullen to take on the Harps in the first round of the Mick Duffy Cup. Both teams started off strong with points traded at both ends. After a goal from Paudie Finnegan, Magheracloone continued to put pressure on the Harps defence and went in at half time 8 points up. Half time score Magheracloone 1-10 to Harps 0-5. Magheracloone resumed the second half and whilst both teams traded scores, they never looked like they were going to loose their lead. It was an excellent all round preformance and hopefully they will continue this form throughout the Championship campaign. Team David Kirk, James Lambe (0-1), Pete Ward, Paul McArdle, John McMahon (0-1), James Ward, Peter Tuite, Jamie Kieran, Gavin Doogan, Killian Rudden, Paudie Finnegan (1-6), Paudie McMahon (0-1), Allan Kieran (0-5), Micheal Metzger (0-1) and Tommy Freeman (0-3). Subs used: Alan McCahey (0-1) for Gavin Doogan, Ronan Freeman for James Ward, Frankie Doogan for Micheal Metzger, David Freeman for Paudie Finnegan, Peter Lambe for Paul McArdle.
MINORS
Well done to our minor team who added another 2 points to their league campaign and now sit in 4th place in the table. Magheracloone took on Truagh and won impressively on a score line of 5-11 to 2-12. Well done lads.
U16’S
The U16’S travelled to Monaghan on Thursday and try as they might they never got the upper hand. Magheracloone had a disasterous first half going in 5 goals down at half time but in true Mitchell spirit they came back in the second half and battled hard and got it back to 2 points unfortunately for us the Harps got a late goal and some unanswered points to finish, and won by 7 points. Magheracloone 4-13 Harps 8-8
U12’S
Our U12’S were out in the first game in Div. 2, they played Tyholland and won on a scoreline of Magheracloone 5-14 Tyholland 4-13. Well done to all involved. Wishing Corey Doogan a speedy recovery after an injury he picked up during the game. Also in their group are Truagh, Emyvale, Clones and Donaghmoyne.
