Our seniors played two game in the past week against Cremartin on Wednesday last and against Aughnamullen on Sunday in Scotshouse. Against Cremartin while starting slowly a good comeback before halftime saw them on even terms thanks to a Stephen Smith goal. In the second half in was all to play for but we just came up short in what was a promising display. Final score Cremartin, 0-15, Currin 2-8. Team and scorers, Fergal Connolly, Colm Mc Caffrey, Sean Brady, Dara Brady, Ben Clerkin, Paddy Mc Dermott, Cian North, Eoin Morrow, Dick Clerkin, 0-3, Ciaran Mc Caffrey, Stephen Smith 1-1, Jason Mc Kiernan, Dylan Greenan, Conor Beattie, Niall Mc Entee, 0-3. Subs used, Jack Mc Carron 1-1. Michael Quigley.

We also played Aughnamullen on Sunday morning and and in a magnificent team display we recorded a much deserved win. After falling behind we gradually got on terms and were level seven points each at half time. AStephen Smith goal proved the catalyst for a great second half and with Niall Mc Entee and Jack Mc Carron landing eight points between them we ran out deserving winners on a scoreline of 1-17 to 2-10. Scorers, Stephen Smith, 1-5. Niall Mc Entee, 0-4 Jack Mc Carron, 0-4, Dick Clerkin, 0-2, Ciaran Mc Caffrey, 0-2.

Do you like to Write?

This year the County Board, specifically the PR, Communications and IT committee, are trying to establish a pilot project where each club will source a young person(16+) or even not so young to help them. Their main job will be to write match reports, particularly at youth level. This job will be suited to someone who has a keen interest in writing and sport – perhaps someone who is thinking of a career in journalism. If you would fancy a ‘go’ at this or know anyone who might be interested, please contact any committee member asap as an information evening is being held shortly.
