U-12’s

Played Mageracloone on Wednesday see next week’s notes for report.

U-14’s

Lost out to Clontibret on Saturday last in Clontibret on a scoreline of 3-18 to 3-05. Next game for these lads is a trip to Aghabog on the 4th of June to play Patrick Emmets.

U-16’s

Had a narrow loss to Rockorry in an extremley close encounter in Rockorry on Thursday last. These lads have played in some cracking games just coming out on the wrong side of the result. Hopefully the results will begin to improve as they are set to take on Patrick Emmets in Killevan on Thursday evening.

Minors

Lost out to Donaghmoyne on a scoreline of 3-17 to 3-11. The lads were winning this for most of the contest only to be pipped in the last quarter. Donaghmoyne are top of the table so this shows that the lads are well capable of competing in this division. There is a break now for the lads until July as the Leaving Cert is beginning.

Junior B’s

On Saturday last the Junior B’s had a great win over Eire Og in the quarter final of the McKeown Cup running out eventual winners on a scoreline of 3-10 to 0-10. The game which was played in extremley wet conditions was a much closer encounter than the scoreline suggests. In a tight first half were scores were hard earned Clones went in at the break a point to the good with the score at 1-03 to 0-05. The goal coming from Emmett McEntee. The lads dug deep in the second half and with some great performances were able to come out on top with another goal from Emmett and one from Cian O’Connor. They also played Killany on Wednesday night please see next weeks notes for report.

Please make an effort to support all our teams.

Congratulations

To Ruth Douglas and the Monaghan U-14 ladies who won their Ulster Final weekend. A fantastic achievement by Ruth and hopefully it is the first of many to come.

Best Wishes

To Fabian Beggan and the Monaghan Minors who take on Down in the first Round of the Ulster Championship in Clones at 7pm on Saturday. The lads have had a strong year so far and hopefully they can build on that on Sunday.
