AWARDS NIGHT Our Annual Awards night took place on Saturday night in the Social Club. We would like to thank our special guest Vice Person of Coiste Chontae Mhuineacháin Michael Eoin Mc Mahon for attending our event and detailing our achievements both on and off the field in 2015 The entire room was thrilled to receive the Chairman’s address from Vincent Boyd after a long spell in Hospital last year. We were extremely privileged to enter two esteem Cremartin Gaels into our Hall of Fame namely Mark Clarke and Pat Mc Eneaney. These two esteemed Cremartin Greats who gave many years of outstanding services to Cremartin Shamrocks both as a player in the seventies and as Club Officers and highly regarded referees. Both recipients received a fitting and glowing tribute on the night and are a very worthy recipient of our Hall of Fame accolade .We were delighted Mark and Pat’s families and friend could join them on their special night and we would like to thank them for attending. Shane Burke received our Senior Player of the Year for his outstanding performances in 2015. Maurice Branigan presented the Hugh and Kathleen Shield for Shane’s exceptional year on the field. The Reserve Player of the Year for 2015 went to Liam Atkinson Liam had a tremendous year on the field and was a well deserved winner. We are delighted to accept the Paddy Carragher perpetual trophy from from the Carragher Family this year. Michael Carragher presented Liam with the Paddy Carragher Shield . Both Liam and Shane were commended on the commitment and dedication they displayed in 2015. Our Club Person for 2015 was awarded to Dairine Mc Benette. Dairine was commended on the commitment and acclaimed in her role as PRO . Dairine was an exceptional club officer and outstanding PRO with our Club. We celebrated all the Newlyweds in2015 – Geard and Joanne Malone, Raymond and Elaina Carragher, Darren and Sinead Bishop, Ciaran and Lisa

Carragher Mark and Joan Brennan. On behalf of the Senior Players Barry Carragher welcomed the members of the Castleblayney Cancer Society to our awards night. Barry thanked everyone involved in our recent fundraising Cycle. Our senior players then presented a donation of €2000 from the money raised to the Society. We would like again to thank the players for this kind gesture. We would like to thank everyone who helped with the preparation work for the night in setting up the hall, to Ann Mulligan on the excellent memorabilia which was enjoyed by everyone, to our professional MC on the night Gary Carville to our club Secretary Majella Boyd who works tersely to make sure everything runs to a high standard ,the cater Peader Lynch and his catering staff for the lovely food served on the night , Larry and his Bar Staff and to everyone who attended Thanks also to Paddy King for providing the music and made it a very enjoyable night .

CREMARTIN GAA COMMEMORATION OF THE 1916 RISING

Keep free Sunday the 8th of May 2016 Cremartin GAA commemoration of the 1916 rising and its significant role in the development of our Irish nation during the 2016 La nag club. We are planning to have a short flag-raising ceremony followed by a historical talk by club officer Gary Carville. This will be followed by an evening of traditional music in the social centre with Musicians from far and wide. EVERBODY welcome to bring their musical instruments and join in this wonderful evening of traditional music, song and dance.

The Parents Association of Annyalla National School is holding a fundraising Cookery Demonstration by Chef Adrian from TV3’S the 7 o clock show. It will take place in the school on Thursday 12th of May at 8pm. This event is sponsored by Shortts Butchers; Main St Castleblayney Tickets are 10 euro each and are available from Annyalla National School and Shortts Butchers. Your support is greatly appreciated
