Under 12’s

Continued their winning ways with an excellent win over Aughnamullan on Saturday last on a scoreline of 0-17 to 0-11 in the Gerry’s Prepared Veg U-12 Spring League. Next up for these lads is the visit of Truagh on the 16th of April in a top of the table clash.

U-14’s

Start their league campaign away to Aughnamullan this Saturday at 2pm in the Gerrys Prepared Veg U-14 Division 3 League. Let’s hope the lads can get off to a winning start.

Minor

Started their League campaign on Tuesday night with a trip to Aghabog to face Patrick Emmetts in Division 2 of the Minor League.

Junior B’s

The Junior B’s were in action last Saturday evening in the Platinum Tanks Reserve Football League Division 3 against Carickmacross in Carrickmacross. In what can only be described as very difficult conditions Clones went in at the break 6 points behind. The lads showed a great deal of character and a goal from James McElwain in the second half brought us back into the game. In a game that went from one end of the pitch to the other in the last 10 minutes Carrickmacross eventually held on to win by the minimum. Next game for the B’s is not until the 04th of May when we will host Eire Og in Clones.

Seniors

This Sunday sees the Seniors take on Toome at 2pm in Toome in the next round of the Eurotech Junior Football League. We will be hoping that the lads will be able to get a win under their belt.

Please make an effort to support all our teams.

Well Done

To James Mealiff and the Monaghan U-21’s who won there Ulster Championship Semi Final on Wednesday last with a brilliant 2-16 to 0-9 win over Armagh in Newry. James was playing Centre Back and impressed throughout by keeping one of Armaghs main men Oisin O’Neill quiet for the day. The Final took place on Wednesday night so hopefully the lads managed to pull off a win.

Also to Fabian Beggan and the Monaghan Minors who made it three from three in the Minor League with a 1-18 to 2-12 win over Cavan in Clones on Saturday last. The lads will be out next on the 16th of April in the League semi Finals.

Well Done also to Fintan Kelly and the Monaghan Senior Team on the survival in Division 1 on Sunday last with a 1 point win over Donegal. Guts and determination were the order of the day when Monaghan found themselves 1-04 to 0-00 down with 20 minutes gone. The lads battled hard for the remainder of the game and eventually ran out 1-10 to 1-09 victors. It was a great perfomance by the lads and hopefully they can build on this going into the championship.

U-8 & U-10’s

Will be training on Wednesday nights from 6-7pm in the Peace Link. All are welcome.
