U-14’S

Well done to Castleblayney U-14 on their great display of Hurling in Oram on Monday against Carrickmacross in the Final. Both Teams presented themselves very well on the field and was however a very entertaining match. Unfortunately for the Blayney lads it was not their day. Congratulation to Carrickmacross on their win. Full report will follow nest week.

Seniors Well done to Sammy for having The Concra pitch in top condition for last Thursday night’s match against Monaghan Harps. Some of our young players are starting to step up to the mark. Pauric Malone had an outstanding match scoring 2 goals and four points. Other young players like Alan Duffy in his first senior match scoring a fab goal by bursting through three Monaghan players to find the back of the net. Kevin McCooey and James Carville side by side with Bernard O’Connor let very little past. The score was 3-3 to 0-8 at half time Nathan Adair scoring a fine goal and later a brace of points was assisted by Alan Nugent who was very strong in the middle. Eoin Leonard at center half assisted by Wayne Funcheon and Jack Deasy were our strong line in defence. Gerry Brady. Fintan Finnegan with 0-1 point and Conor McNally fought for everything Daniel Shevlin, Ger O’Brien, Shane Buckley, Jack Murphy and Michael Tomany all did very well went introduced. Goalie Paddy Collins took off three brilliant saves that kept us in the match. Final score 3-10 to 1-11. Well done lads. We are away to Truagh next week in The Development League, leaving The Commons at 6pm sharp. Please text Noel.
