GALA BALL
The club celebrated in style on Saturday night last with the fantastic occasion of reaching 70 years as the Magheracloone Mitchells. Over three hundred and fifty family and friends came to the Nuremore Hotel to honour the 1966 Junior Double winning team, the 2015 reserve championship winning team and also the U21 2015 championship winning team. Guests of honour GAA President Aogán Ó Fearghaíl and Monaghan County Chairperson Padraig Sherry were presented with The” Hills of Magheracloone” by author Fr. Micheal Gilsenan. Vinney Duffy was also honoured with a memento as he is the sole surviving member of the founding committee of the Mitchells. It was fantastic to see players from all three teams sharing stories both new and old with their club and families. A special thank you to all who assisted in any way in the organisation of the Gala Ball. Thank to to all who donated spot prizes, to all who supported us but most of all thank you to the three teams for making the night possible. Good luck in 2016, hopefully we will be celebrating with further cups next year.
