HARPS HANDBALL
Congratulations to Eoghan Mc Ginnity who had a convincing All-Ireland Semi-Final win last week-end over Lorcan Conlon, Mayo by  score of 15-1, 15-3.  Eoghan now faces a tough battle against Kyle Dunn, Kilkenny who had a comfortable Semi-final win.  The final is in two weeks time in Kingscourt and we know that Eoghan can pull it off.  He is in great form at the moment, and he is the player all others want to beat.  Eoghan will just have to focus his energy and court craft fully towards this All-Ireland final of the Under 14 Singles.  We all wish him well
Gavin Coyle, Bawn Handball Club had a fine win in his All-Ireland Semi-Final of the Junior B Singles  defeating Mayo (Diarmuid McDonagh) 21-5, 21-7.  Good luck in the Final Gavin from the Harps Club.
Unfortunately both Michael Clerkin, Bawn and Niamh Farrell, Carrickmacross lost their respective All-Ireland semi-finals but will bounce back next year.
BAWN HANDBALL

Monaghan might have lost to Mayo in Clones but it was a different outcome in Bawn where Gavin coyle dft Dairmuid mc Donnagh from Mayo 21-5 21-7 in the junior B all Ireland semi final,  he now faces  Carlows Kevin Barrett  in the final  unfortunately Michael Clerkin lost out to Sligo man Shane Bruen in the masters B semi final, hard luck Michael. Gavin coyle plays again this Saturday in Belfast when himself and Gary mc Elroy face Antrim in the junior B doubles ulster final, good luck lads. Tickets are on sale for our easter hamper from Rosemary mc Geough or committee members.

MELLANS HANDBALL

Ulster Juvenile Championships. Hard luck to Niamh Fullen as she lost the U17 All Ireland Semi-final to Laura Finn from Sligo in Beragh last Sunday, probably lack ofchampionship action played a part in the defeat, Niamh got a bye to the semi, but it is hard to beat match practice, but that is the level we are all up against, hard luck Niamh.

Table Quiz. We held our table quiz on Friday past, we had a full house with 21 tables being put their paces in fun packed night, the winning team came from some usual suspects in Gerard, Denis, Brian and our county secretary John, the juvenile winners were, well just too “MANY” to name,, we would like to thank Monaghan Electric, Drumbriston Furniture and Mc Kenna Fuels Emyvale and all our club and committee members that donated spot prizes, also a big thanks to Brian who came and sorted out the food and the last minute, a big thanks to all who came down to support the quiz, also thanks to all that could not attend but yet donated to the club, a big thanks to all.

Adult County Championships. Good luck to Brian Connolly in the Nov4 county final, time or venue not set yet, and also in the Nov1 final we have 2 club men, in fact we had 3 in the last 4 but Patrick Mc Kenna (PH)beat Michael Treanor (P) in the semi, now Paddy faces club man Eoin Treanor in the final, no time has been sorted yet for the final, but I would be pretty sure we have home advantage in this one, good luck to all.

Mono League. The Mono League is still on going, we will have both courts running hopefully from here forward, the seating may not be finished but it should be safe enough for the players, some players are “not”fulfilling their fixtures but a bigger issue is that their opponents are not been contacted, this can not be tolerated, can captains please put pressure on all players to please fulfill fixtures on the night, and if not before the next game.
