SHALOTTO

There was no winner of the Shalotto held in the Social Club on the 31s January 2015.  Numbers Drawn were: 8-14-15-18.  Lucky Dip Winners: Marie Mohan, Melbourne, Roisin Lavelle, Dunfelimy, Hayden Onyszko, Kathleen Culleton, Drumgriston, Paul Flanagan, Annyalla.  The Jackpot stands at €7,000 and our draw will take place in Atkinson’s Shamrock Bar on Sunday evening next. You may join the Annual Shalotto Scheme by contacting any member of the Club Committee.

PLEASE NOTE: ALL Shalotto tickets must be handed in by 9.30 p.m. every Sunday evening to ensure that they go into the draw.

MEMBERSHIP 2016

Club Membership is now due to be paid for 2016.  Fees are Adults (all persons 18 years and over) – €45, Juveniles (all Players 17 years and under) – €20, and for a family – €95.00 (family = Parents plus all children 17 years and under).  It is imperative that all football players update their membership before the beginning of the season.  Anyone wanting to pay their membership can do so by contacting our Club Registrar Brendan Mooney.

U21 SHAMROCK CUP

Monaghan U21s got their Shamrock Cup campaign off to a good start with a one point win over Louth last Friday night in difficult conditions in Darver.  Their next outing is this weekend.  Please check official fixtures/facebook/twitter for details.

 

GET ON YER BIKE!!!

Cremartin GAA are holding a Fundraising Cycle Event on Saturday 5th March 2016.  This is already promising to be great event and certainly one not be missed!! Proceeds will be in aid of Cremartin GAA and the Castleblayney Cancer society. Save the date!

NATIONAL CLUB DRAW

Tickets for the Croke Park National Club Draw are still available from all our Committee Members.  Please support.  Some great prizes including trip with the 2015 All Stars, Trip to New York, All Ireland Tickets.  See gaa.ie for more details.  Tickets €10 each.

As the closing date for returning tickets is fast approaching can everyone please return sold tickets asap to any Committee Member.

 

CHILD PROTECTION IN SPORTS AWARENESS COURSE

Monaghan GAA are committed to creating and maintaining the safest possible environment for all young people who wish to participate in our Gaelic Games and activities.  If you are involved in coaching underage in 2016 this is mandatory.  Therefore we are inviting clubs to attend  a Child Protection in Sports Awareness Workshop either on Monday 8th of February or Thursday 18th of February 2016. Please register with Children’s Officer John Mc Ardle ASAP.  Cost per person is €10 which will be collected on the evening.

 

UPCOMING LEVEL TWO YOUTH/ADULT AWARD

Ulster GAA in conjunction with Tyrone GAA will be running a Level Two Youth/ Adult Award in the coming weeks. Places are limited on the course and if you are or you know of somebody who would be interested in completing the Award they can register their name by contacting Roger Keenan directly (roger.keenan.ulster@gaa.ie). The closing date to register is Friday 4th February.

Dates: 12th/ 13th February, 19th/ 20th February & 5th March
Times: Friday 7pm – 10pm Saturday 9am – 5pm
Cost: €150 per coach

MCCABE TWINS FUNDRAISING DANCE

The family, friends and local community have come together to create a Fundraising Committee and have organised a fun-filled Gala Fundraising night in The Glencarn Hotel, Castleblayney THIS SATURDAY 6th February.  Music will be by Joe Murray and the Texas Wildcats. Tickets are available from the Glencarn Hotel.  Please support this great cause!!

 

OUR LADYS ULSTER FINAL

Congratulations to Our Lady’s Secondary School, Castleblayney U16 Girls Gaelic Team who captured the U16 Ulster B Title for the first time last Thursday.  Niamh Kerr, Joint Captain with Sorcha McCague, lifted the Cup to a jubilant crowd.  Our Lady’s U/16’s now go on to represent Ulster in the All Ireland series against the Munster Champions on a date yet to be confirmed.  Team and scorers: Lauren McGinn, Sinéad McElvaney, Aisling Callan, Abby Duffy, Erin Hamill, Niamh Kerr(0:1), Rebecca Sweeney, Eimear Conlon, Andrea Duffy(0:2), Jennifer Duffy, Sorcha McCague(1:4), Eleanor Fitzpatrick(0:1), Saoirse Duffy(0:1), Jayne Drury(3:0), Aoife Bannigan(1:1), Elizabeth Meegan, Danielle Casey, Ceara Finnegan, Mollie Doherty, Róise O’Brien, Katie Duffy, Caoimhe McGeough, Irene Fitzpatrick, Leagh Farrell.  Well done to all involved!
