Clones GFC is looking for volunteers to work with our juvenile teams, some specific roles below:

* Boys under 8 and under 16 boys’ teams are looking for mentors/coaches – If you are interested in helping out, please contact Joanne Rehill for more information.

* This year, Girls football is returning to the club – starting at under 8 and under 10 teams – if you are interested in getting involved, please Contact Joanne Rehill or Joe Monaghan for more information.

Volunteers are always welcome to our club, no matter how little or many hours you can spare, we would greatly appreciate the help – contact any club member for further information.

Coaching courses are also available for anyone keen to learn more and it is open to all ages. The following dates are scheduled:

Foundation Award

11th/ 12th March Venue: Ballybay (Football)

Level One

12th/ 13th/ 14th February Venue: Cloghan (Youth/ Adult)

Clones GFC present Mr and Mrs

Mr and Mrs is full steam ahead for Saturday the 20th of February in the Creighton Hotel at 8pm. Player of the year awards will also be presented on the night. Tickets will cost €20 and all admission tickets bought will be entered into a draw for €300. This is a fundraiser so if you cannot attend on the night you can still help the club by buying a ticket. You will also have the chance to win the €300 prize. There will be a raffle with great prizes on the night also. There will be a buffet supper and music to top it all off. A great night is promised so we will be hoping that everyone flocks to the Creighton on the 20th to support. So if you have not got your tickets yet ask any member of the executive or any member of the Senior Panel. Tickets will also be on sale in the Creighton Hotel.

Registration Day

The club will be holding a Registration day on Saturday the 13th of February from 12-2pm in the Clubrooms. Juvenile members up to U-18 are €5, Adult member is €10 and Adult Player member is €20, Family membership is €25. We are hoping for as many people as possible to sign up. For playing members this fee also covers insurance for the year so please make sure that you are signed up.

Congratulations

To the men of 5th Class in St Tiernachs Primary School in Clones who represented themselves brilliantly at half time in the Monaghan vs Down game last Sunday in Clones. The lads were awarded the opportunity as they recently won a schools competition. The future of Clones GFC looks very bright indeed as the boys acquitted themselves excellently. They made their School, Club and families very proud. Well done also to Adrian Alford their coach and Club/School Liaison officer who has done an excellent job with these lads.

Well Done

To the Monaghan Senior team who had a hard fought victory over Down on Sunday last. In difficult conditions Monaghan showed a lot of guts combined with a great deal of skill to overcome the Mourne Men. They now have a 3 week break until they play Dublin in Croke Park on the 27th of February.

National Club Draw

This is the last week of the National Club draw so anyone who has not bought their tickets need to do so this week. If you have been selling tickets can you please return to Ciaran Mulhall by this Friday the 12th of February.
