Congratulations to Ryan Wylie, a major player on the victorious UCD Sigerson Cup team. Ryan starred at corner back as they went on to win the competition for the first time in 20 years. His victory keeps Ballybay Pearse Brothers rich tradition in the competition alive with a number of club members having winners medals in the third level competition. A special mention to fellow club member Dessie Ward, who has a winners medal from the 2015 competition, who was part of the DCU team that competed in the final. It is a great achievement by both men and hopefully this wont be the last time we see the lads competing in a final in the 2016 season.

Thanks to all who attended the Juvenile presentation & table quiz on Friday night. It was a major success and will set the juveniles in good standing for the year ahead. Congratulations to the overall winners, the McSkean family, who won £50 vouchers for O’Neills, kindly donated to the club by the sporting good giants. Well done to all involved & thanks for all those who supported the event.

Championship draw: The draw for this year reserve championship took place over the weekend with Ballybay drawing the winners of Monaghan Harps & Emyvale in the quarter final. The senior draw was already made which sees a continuation of last years trilogy when Ballybay will go head to head with Clontibret again.

Coaching Courses: This year the club are hosting a foundation level coaching course in Pearse Park on Friday evening the 10th & Saturday the 11th of March. Anyone interested in attending the course should contact either Evan Rutledge 0871351243 or Cillian McAviney 0867368078 for additional information. All are welcome to attend.

On-Line Blotto: The club’s blotto can now be purchased on-line. Please see the Ballybay Pearse Brothers facebook page for the link that’ll allow you to access the website for more details. Play now so that you don’t miss out on the chance to win the weekly jackpot.

Club gear: There is a new range of club gear available. If you are interested or would like more info please contact the facebook page or Cillian McAviney for more info.

Bingo: Just a quick note to remind everyone that the club’s weekly Bingo takes place every Tuesday night at 9pm in the clubhouse. The bingo is a great opportunity for the community to come together midweek and have a good night while maybe even winning a few bob. This is a fundamental part of the club’s fund raising for day-to-day costs and we would all really appreciate if you, your friends or your family could support this if you can at all. And, don’t forget, there is transport available to the centre. Every week, our volunteers go to great efforts to keep this going so that all of the other voluntary members of the club have a good starting platform. Hope to see some new faces tomorrow night and over the coming weeks!

Astro Turf. Please contact Brendan Macklin 087-6766283 for bookings. Interest is growing with pre-season training back in full swing, so get in early to ensure you’re not disappointed.

Committee meeting: The next committee meeting is fixed for Monday the 29th of Feb in the club room at 8pm. It is hoped to see all members there.
