2016 Scor Sinsear County Final: Congratulations to our Ballad Group who are County Champions for 2016 (Fiona Hoey, Sharon Mc Gahon, Sean & Caroline Walsh). County Finals took place in Corcaghan last weekend and Ballad Group performed 2 ballads on the night, “Through the Eyes of an Irish Man” and contrasting tempo ballad “The Star of the County Down”, with beautiful harmonies and guitar and whistle accompaniment. The Group now go forward to represent Inniskeen Grattans & Co. Monaghan at the Ulster Scor Semi Final on Friday 12th Feb @7.45pm which this year takes place in Threemilehouse Monaghan. So come along and show your support on the night. Our Club was represented by Paddy Meegan in the Recitation category. Paddy gave a recitation of The winning team of Inniskeen Grattans 1958, bringing back many memories of The Grattans Team of 1958 to the audience. The Solo singing category was represented by Sharon Mc Gahon who gave a beautiful rendition of The Lakes of Pontchartrain. Instrumental Music Group was represented by Aoife Hammill (Fiddle), Aoibheann Monahan (Fiddle), Gareth Quinn (Mandolin & Banjo), Sharon Mc Gahon (Keyboard) & Sean Walsh (Flute). They gave a great performance of “Caoineadh Bhriain da Mhathair”, a recently composed piece by Michael Rooney and uplifting Jigs, “The Lilting Banshee” and “ John Mc Hughs” The Quiz Category was represented by Paddy Meegan, Stephen Byrne, Sharon Mc Gahon & Sean Walsh. Scor is truly alive and well in Inis Caoin Grattan’s Club!
