Scor: Congratulations to the Scor Sinsir competitors & their mentor Gerard Mc Quaid on winning four out of four competitions in the County Finals in Corcaghan on Friday night last & also the award for Best Overall Club. Winners were: Solo Singing: Amelia Murphy; Recitation: Laura Treanor; Set Dancing: Michaela Mc Gee, Mary Kirke, Cathy Kirke, Riona Kavanagh, Gerard Mc Gonnell, Peadar Sherry, Donal Kavanagh, Stephen Maguire; Ceili Dancing: Cathy Kirke, Michaela Mc Gee, Vanessa Treanor, Riona Kavanagh, Carol Flood, Rachel Treanor, Michaela Mc Quaid, Sinead Mc Carron. They now go forward to the Ulster semi-final which will be held in Threemilehouse on the 12th February.

Table Quiz: There will be a Table Quiz in The Scarna Inn this Friday 29th January at 8.30pm for the Emyvale GAA Lourdes Fund. This is in memory of Willie Flannery & Kieran Mc Aree and all support is greatly appreciated. Raffle on the night with great prizes. €10 per person/€40 per table. Hope to see you there.

Juveniles: Emyvale GAA would like to welcome G & G Centra as the main sponsor of their Juvenile Club again for 2016. G & G Centra have been the main sponsor of our Juveniles for a number of years and their continued support is extremely welcome and very much appreciated.

Coaching: For anyone interested in training as a coach, there are three foundation level coaching courses running on separate dates 26th & 27th February(Magheracloone), 5th & 6th March (Cloghan) and 11th & 12th March (Ballybay). For anyone who has already completed foundation level coaching there will be two Level 1 coaching courses on 5th & 6th February (Child) and 12th, 13th & 14th February (Youth/Adult), both of these courses are in Cloghan and again contact Patrick Mc Carron or Martin O’Brien or Brendan Mc Nally for further information.

There are a number of coaching workshops in February focusing on “Defensive/attacking systems & strategies” 7.30-9pm 1st February Cloghan & “Goalkeeping” 7.30-9pm 22nd February Cloghan. If anyone is interested in attending these workshops please contact PatrickMartin/Brendan for further information.

Monaghan Coaching & Games Development has commenced the Term Three Primary Schools Coaching Programme. The programme commenced on Monday 11th January and this term will run until Friday 11th March. Patrick McCarron will be the coach delivering this programme in Corracrin & Ann Mc Kenna will be the coach delivering this programme in Edenmore.

Monaghan Coaching and Games Development are currently running an Indoor 5 a side Football League for National School children. The league is for boys in 5th class and takes place in St Macartan’s College (Sportshall) on Thursday 21st, 28th January & 4th February. Well done to everyone taking part in this league.

Nursery Programme: Emyvale GAA Juvenile Club will be holding their Nursery Programme again in 2016. The programme will run on Saturday mornings starting Saturday 6th February running until Saturday 26th March from 10:00am to 11:00am in Emyvale Leisure Centre for children attending Junior Infants to 1st class and parents will be encouraged to take part. All children taking part in the Nursery Club are required to register with the club for insurance purposes. Registration is €20, (€10 for registration and €10 for a training top). Family membership is available at €60, please ring Aine for details 085 1400186. Also, please bring child\children’s birth cert for proof of date of birth.

The U-10 indoor football league starts on Saturday 6th February in the Monaghan Institute Sports Hall and runs for three weeks. The games start at 9.30 and finish at 12.30. Please note all players must wear a mouth guard. Contact Martin O’Brien on 087 6721981for further information.
