Doohamlet v Loughinisland Ulster semi final:

We travelled to the Athletic Grounds on Sunday afternoon to take on Down Champions Loughlinisland for a place in the Ulster Final.  Conditions werent ideal for football but that is what we had planned for. We got the first score of the day a point from Barry Mc Ginn, 5 minutes later Jamie Walshe registered our 2nd point of the day. Loughlinsland got of the scoreboard with a pointed free mintues later they hit the back of the net and followed that with another pointed free, with 28 minutes gone Barry Bc Ginn got another point to to leave a single point between the teams. Loughlinisland got a free in injury time and a point coming from that left the half time scoreline 0-4 to 1-3. The second half we started brightly with 2 points coming from the boot of Barry Mc Ginn to leave it all square, Loughlinisland got another easy free to give them advantage again, a goal in the 13th minute by Loughlinisland to give them a 6 point lead, another point by Loughlinisland and that was followed by another goal with 17th minutes gone and left us a mountain to climb. In fairness to our boys we stil pushed on ane got another point by Barry Mc Ginn. Loughlinisland pounced again for another goal in the 30th minute. Barry Mc Ginn got the last score of the day a goal coming from a free. It finished on a scoreline of Doohamlet 1-7 Loughlinisland 4-7. This Sunday we travel to Corduff where we meet Aughnamullen in the final of the Intermediate football league. Throw in time is 2pm. Good luck to the team and manangement.

Congratulations to Scotstown and Rockcorry on winning their semi finals and wish them good luck in the finals. Aslo thanks to Rockcorry for their sporting gesture on Sunday ahead of our game.
