Harps seniors 2015

SFC: We take on Scotstown in the Greenfield Foods Senior Football Championship Final in Clones this Sunday at 3pm. Please get there early and get behind our senior team. Best of luck to all involved.

 

Breakfast morning: We host a breakfast morning in the clubhouse before the county final this Sunday from 9am to 11.30. We will also have face-painting and Harps colours available on the morning. Come along and soak up the pre-match atmosphere and get the day off to a good start.

 

Harps colours: We have a range of club merchandise on sale this week in the run-up to the county final. The clubhouse will be open on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 6-8pm and merchandise will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis. Thanks to everyone who got the green and white around the town last week. Hats with the club crest are also for sale now in the clubhouse, or by contacting Una Forde (087 6107329).

 

SFL: A much-changed team lost out to Clontibret in the Senior Football League last Sunday.

Subs: Colm Shalvey (0-1) for Bourke, John Treanor for Rushe, Ahmed Gamal for Forde.

 

Juveniles: The juvenile year came to a close with an U-13 blitz on Thursday night in Cloghan, where our lads had an excellent win.

 

Scór: Well done to all our representatives at Scór na bPáistí in Threemilehouse last Saturday. Ally McCarron won 1st place in Amhránaíocht Aonair/Solo Singing, as did Mark Clerkin, Orla Corrigan, Fionán Ó Gallchóir, Rachel Lennon and Oisín Reilly for Ceol Uirlise/Instrumental Music. Half-time games: Well done to Hugh Coyle and everyone involved in the Monaghan Special Olympics team who played at half-time of the IFC Final last Sunday. Our own U-10s will be involved at half-time of the SFC Final this Sunday. Good luck to all!

 

Know Your Sport: There is now a four-way tie at the top of our Know Your Sport predictions competition, with Emmet McWilliams, Matthew Clarke, Sandra Carey, and Dean Fanning on 13 points.

 

Gavan Duffy Park: The Monaghan Harps clubhouse is available to book for functions. Contact Jimmy Croarkin on 087 1249635 or Pádraig Callan on 087 2139188 for more information. Anyone looking to book the clubhouse for meetings, functions, etc. is asked to please give a week’s notice for convenience. Huge thanks go to everyone who helped with refurbishing the clubhouse in the last week or so. More details next week.

 

 

Hurling:

Minor Club Championship: Our minors will take on Lisbellaw of Fermanagh in their Ulster competition on Sunday week, October 25, in Ballinascreen at 1pm.

Club Jerseys: The new hurling jerseys are now available to order. All jersey sizes are available in Club Fit (loose) and small, medium and large adult sizes are available in Player Fit (tight). A number may be added if desired. Orders can be placed through messaging the Facebook page admin or through Jim Dalton. Prices are as follows: Size 10/11 – €27, Size 13/14 – €34, Size Adult – €37.
