Aidan Quigley R.I.P.

It was with a sense of great shock and sadness that we in Currin G.F.C. learned about the sudden passing of our Chairman, Aidan Quigley, on Thursday last. To try and accurately sum up Aiden’s contribution, to not only the Currin club, but to the parish and wider GAA community, in a short posting would do him an injustice. In short, few individuals have given such a life’s dedication to the GAA in both a playing and administrative capacity than Aidan did over his lifetime. From his time as a player at all grades with Currin and Monaghan, through to various club managerial positions and his esteemed contribution as an administrator as both club and County Chairman, Aiden has left an indomitable mark on the GAA landscape that has not been confined by the borders of his beloved club and county. Unquestionably Aiden’s passing will leave a huge void that is unlikely to be filled by a character of similar stature and integrity. Aidan will be sorely missed by us all but most especially by his wife, Margaret, son Michael, daughter’s, Deirdre, Grainne and Fionnuala, brothers Sean and Brian, sons-in-law, grandchildren, relatives & friends. Ar dheis Dhe go raibh a anam dilis.

Mrs Mary Cassidy R.I.P.

Currin GFC offer their sincere condolences to the Cassidy family, Cavanreagh on the untimely death of their mother, Mary, who passed away last week having achieved the grand age of 92. Mary had a great interest in Gaelic football and followed the fortunes of Currin as well as her native Cavan. We take this opportunity to sympathise with her sons Tony and Raymond, her daughters Marion, Bernie, Angela and Kathleen. Ar dheis De go raibh a ainm dilis.
