Tyholland

Lotto:  Jackpot €4,500. Results for w/e 8th August 2015: Numbers Drawn; 2,16,24,26.  No winner.  Lucky Dip Winners: Catriona McKenna, Sinead Roberts, Josie McQuaid, Veronica Hanratty. Next weeks jackpot is €4,600!  Tickets available in the bar and border shop at only €2 each or 3 for €5.

 

Seniors:  The Intermediate Football Championship starts this Sunday 16th August against Doohamlet in Blackhill with a throw in time of 1.30.  We would appreciate all the support we can get for this match so please come out and be there to cheer on our lads!

Minors: The Minors were at home last Tuesday 11th against Rockcorry, results available on the GAA website.

U16’s: Last Thursday evening the u16 team lost by a single point to Patrick Emetts scoring 3-14 to their 5-9.  They face them again next Thursday 20th in the Division 4 U16 Football League Cup Final in Aghabog at 7.15.  All support welcome!

U14’s: The U14s play Cremartin at home this evening at 7.30 in Division 4 of the League.

U12’s: The U12s stopped off in St. Sylvesters in Malahide on the road to Croker last Saturday for a match before the main event.  Thanks to all there for looking after the team and followers. The U12s are through to the Division 3 Cup semi-final and take on Inniskeen this Saturday 15th August.  Throw in at 12pm.

U10: The U9 team travelled to Croke Park on Saturday but first stopped off in Naomh Mearnogs in Portmarnock for a friendly game before the big match.  Thanks to Naomh Mearnogs for looking after us and providing refreshments we look forward to returning the favour soon!  Next blitz takes place Saturday 22nd August in Clones.

U8/U6: Training continues Wednesdays.  The U8s played Drumhowan at home last night.

Girls:

Minors: The Minor Girls are away to Aughnamullen on Monday 17th August.

U16: The U16 girls are at home against Inniskeen tomorrow night Friday 14th at 7pm.

U14: A huge congratulations to the U14 girls who played some fantastic football in their victory against Monaghan Harps last Monday scoring 11-08 to Harps 2-03 in the League Final.  Well done to coaches Barry Duffy and Paul Treanor.  Team as follows; Rachel Hughes, Courtney Willis, Marie Louise Hughes, Bronagh McKenna, Molly Roberts, Laoise McColgan, Cliodhna McArdle, Ciara Oliphant, Hannah O’Reilly, Gemma Johnston, Sinead Duffy, Mia McKenna, Caitlin Smyth, Dearbhla McNamee, Chloe Crudden, Chloe Sweeney, Aoife Cassidy, Shauna Corrigan and Aoibha Treanor.

 

Tyholland Gaelic Academy: The first Tyholland Football Academy was a major success.  A huge congratulations and thanks to everyone involved and all who helped out in any way especially Paddy Hughes, Paul McCormick and Richard Tiernan from all 82 Tyholland children who attended and the club itself.  Look out for photo on other pages!

 

Go Raibh Maith Agaibh: A big thank you to everyone who travelled and helped to escort the two bus loads of Tyholland children to the Monaghan match in Croke Park on Saturday.  A great day was had by all!

 

Congratulations: Our U12 boys team had the honour of playing an U12 Tyrone team at half time in Croke park last Saturday.  Team as follows: Dylan O’Reilly, Dara McKenna, David Allen, John McDonald (Killeevan), Josh Dinkin, Charlie McElroy, Bobby Walker, Michael Hatzer, Aran McArdle, Oran Hughes (who scored a point) and Daniel Sheridan (the only Monaghan man to score a goal in Croke Park on Saturday!!).   A big thank you to Glen Treanor, Gareth McKenna and Dermot Coyle for coaching the U12 team, you can see them in action in the Division 3 Cup Semi-Final away against Inniskeen on Saturday!

 

Fundraising Draw: As you are aware we are working hard to make the Fundraising Draw a success.  The funds raised will go towards the development of the club.  Tickets are €20 each or a book of 6 for €100 and are available from any of the coaches or senior players.  Thank you to all the guys who are out selling tickets in the neighbouring parishes in the evenings.  Remember this is our biggest fundraiser of the year and we hope to receive continued support from all.

 

Comhgairdeas:  Congratulations to Grainne McNally and the Monaghan Ladies team who beat Cavan last Saturday.

 

Get well Soon:  The club would like to extend a speedy and full recovery to Darragh Treanor who suffered a broken arm last week and also to Caitlin Smyth.
