Seniors:

Our seniors played Cremartin in the preliminary round of the Intermediate championship on Sunday evening last. Currin started slowly and found themselves four points down after ten minutes but gradually they settled down and were level at six each after twenty five minutes. A missed goal chance and a Cremartin point left us trailing at half time 0-7 to 0-6. The second half began in similar fashion to the first with Cremartin going five points ahead before substitute Jack Mc Carron fired the first of his two goals to bring us back into the game. We pressed on and deservedly won by three points on a score line of 2-11 to 0-14. Team and scorers, Fergal Connolly, Dara Brady, Sean Brady, Colm Mc Caffrey, Paddy Mc Dermott, Conor Mc Caffrey, Ronan King, Eoin Morrow, 0-1, Dick Clerkin, 0-1, Shane O Connor, Stephen Smith, (0-4), Enda Mc Caffrey, Niall Mc Entee, (0-1), Ciaran Mc Caffrey, Kieran Kearns. Subs used, Jack Mc Carron, (2-4), Cian North, Dylan Greenan. We play Corduff on Sunday next in Scotstown at 1.30 p.m.

Minors

The minors played in the league final against Killanny in Castleblayney on Tuesday evening last. This was the first of two finals that this team have reached this season. They will also play Emerald Sarsfields in the championship final at a date to be finalised. This has been an excellent season for this team and well done to all concerned.

Under 16’s,

Two big dates coming up for the Patrick Emmett’s under 16’s, this week and next. On Thursday evening at 7:15 the lads have a semi final in the League Cup (in a repeat of the Championship semi final which went to extra time) against Tyholland in Aghabog. There will be extra time if necessary. The following Thursday evening the Championship final v Toome will be held in a venue to be confirmed, possibly Rockcorry.

Under 14’s,

Patrick Emmett’s  had a very good win against Carrickmacross last week and on Saturday 22nd August play host to Scotstown at 12 noon in Scotshouse. Having won the Championship a few weeks ago these final games will decide the playoff places for the semi finals of the League. Patrick Emmetts currently sit in second place behind Doohamlet.

Under 12’s,

Patrick Sarsfields take on Killanny on Saturday 22nd August in Latton at 4pm in the Division 3 Shield Final. All support appreciated. We have played Killanny twice this year and won both by two points in games that could have gone either way. All support appreciated.

Training as usual for under 10’s / 8’s / 6’s on Saturday morning at 9:30. Don’t forget, if you have been nominated to take a ‘Penalty for Autism’ keep it going and  then post your results.

Ladies GAA

Monaghan ladies take on Dublin in the All Ireland quarter final in Clones on Saturday. We wish them all the best of luck and all support would be appreciated.
