Seniors:

Training continues and due to Monaghan’s success it has been decided to continue the I.F.L. with a ‘Star game’ away against Emyvale next week. Please watch website for definite date.

Youth Affairs.

Under 6/ 8 /10’s

Training continues on Saturdays for these groups at 9:30am. New members always welcome.

Penalty for Autism,

Our young members are taking part in this worthy national initiative and are planning to take a “Penalty for Autism” after training. While this will be a bit of fun it is also hoped to raise funds for Irish Autism. Full details can be found on the Irish Autism website and we urge everyone to support this marvellous initiative.

Under 12’s
The under 12 team travelled to Inniskeen on Thursday evening last but came away second best on the night. That completes our games in the league and we now have a semi final in the Shield competition. There were some very close and entertaining games in the league and we can consider ourselves a little unlucky not to have qualified for the Cup semi Finals. The Shield semi final has been fixed for Scotshouse on Friday 7th August at 7.15 pm against Sean Mc Dermotts.
Under 14s,
The next game is on Saturday 1st August at 12:00 in Rockcorry.

Under 16’s
The Under 16’s with help from the under 14’s went out to play Tyholland on Thursday evening last and put in a heroic display. Despite being seriously under normal strength they took the game to extra time and clinched a one point win on a score line of 4-17 to 5=13. Well to all concerned and a Championship Final now awaits on Thursday evening 27th August at 7:15pm, venue to be confirmed. The opposition will be Toome. Tonight, Thursday, the under 16’s travel to take on Rockcorry with a throw in of 7:30pm.

Minors

Last week the minors had a hard earned win over Castleblayney, 3-10 to 2-9, only getting on top in the final stages. They travelled to Latton for the Championship semi final against Doohamlet on Tuesday evening last .

Ulster ladies final

Commiserations to Monaghan ladies who went down to Donegal in terrible conditions in Clones last Sunday. Well done to Ellen Mc Carron who worked tirelessly and unselfishly throughout. To say that the conditions were more suited to the winners style of play is an understatement but the Monaghan girls can get their mission back on track when they meet Cavan in the qualifiers.

Spot the Currin video stars ?

Investec, Monaghan sponsors have commisioned a number of acclaimed promotional video shorts in recent times. In ‘the March’ a prominent Currin umpire can be seen enjoying our 2013 win and in the latest one, a Donegal exile can be seen enjoying our latest triumph. I wonder will he have to ‘fly under the radar’ in the highlands, for a while. #terriblepun.

All Ireland Quarter final

We will know our opponents at the weekend but tickets should be pre ordered from our secretary ASAP to avoid disappointment.
