Corduff Notes

August 6th, 2015

Corduff:

All-Ireland Semi-Final:

All roads lead to Croke Park this Saturday when Monaghan take on neighbours Tyrone in the All-Ireland semi-final. Corduff Gaels would like to wish Malachy O’Rourke and the Monaghan team good luck in what promises to be an exciting encounter.

MINOR VICTORY:
CORDUFF 3-16 CLONES 0-7
Corduff Minors had a fabulous victory over Clones in  the Championship semi final. A well drilled CORDUFF side started out and were kicking points from all angles. This didn’t let up until the final whistle went. Corduff were much better in all positions on the pitch as defenders , midfielders and forwards were all on the game. Congratulations to everyone involved as they progress ONWARDS TO THE FINAL!!

Seniors:

Div 2B Reserve Semi-Final:

Corduff was the venue for the Div 2B Semi-Final between Corduff and Blackhill last Wednesday. Corduff opened strong and were ahead in the 3rd minute on 0-2 to 0-1. This was the last time Corduff would lead in this

match as Blackhill raised their first green flag in the 6th minute. Both teams continued to trade points with Corduff reducing the arrears and narrowing the margin to 2 points when Blackhill smashed home a second goal in the 23rd minute. Blackhill went in stronger at the interval with Corduff trailing by 4 points. Scores were hard earned by Corduff in the second as they only registered 2 points the second of which came in the 15th minute by which time Blackhill were ahead by 2 goals on 0-11 to 2-11. Blackhill added another goal to their tally and a rally of unanswered points pulling away comfortably by the final whistle on a score line of Corduff 0-11 Blackhill 3-16 booking themselves a place in the competition final.

Meanwhile Corduff returned to League action last night and are focusing on the Championship in 2 weeks.
