Seniors:

Last Saturday Currin took on near neighbours Clones in Clones. As with all ‘local derbies’ this was a tight, hard fought game. Currin started well and a goal in the fourth minute gave us a lead that was never to be relinquished. At half time the score was Currin 1-4, Clones 0-4. While Clones rallied in the second half, good defensive play from all the team in the very difficult weather conditions saw us gain a well deserved win. That’s now a third win in a row; well done to all concerned. Final score, 1-8 to 0-9. Team and scorers, Fergal Connolly, Dara Brady, Sean Brady, Colm Mc Caffrey, Paddy Mc Dermott, Conor Mc Caffrey, Ronan King, Eoin Morrow, Ciaran Mc Caffrey, Enda Mc Caffrey, (0-2), Stephen Smith, (0-2), Niall Mc Entee , Ciaran Kearns, Dick Clerkin, (1-3), Cian North, (0-1). Subs used, Paul Rudden for Stephen Smith. We played Cremartin last night, Wednesday, in Scotshouse.

Youth Affairs

Minors and U 16’s

Good luck to all our members who started with their exams this week. Don’t get through them; push through them!

Under 14’s

Patrick Emmetts, Under 14’s travel to Carrickmacross on Saturday for a League game with a 12:00 noon throw in and we travel back to that area on Tuesday next to take on Inniskeen in the Championship semi-final with a throw in of 7:30pm.

Under 12’s

Patrick Sarsfields travelled to Scotstown on Saturday last to play Scotstown in the Division 3 League. After a slow start Patrick Sarsfield’s took control of the first half and went in at half time leading by a goal. They continued to push forward and extended the lead to five points, however that was as good as it was to get and Scotstown came back very strongly in the last fifteen minutes with a string of four goals to win by eight points on a scoreline of 7-7 to 3-11. This was a very entertaining game and all involved will have learned a lot from it. This evening (Thursday) the under 12’s travel to Killanny for a 7:30pm throw in.

Under 10’s

In a new departure there will be a competitive Under 10 ‘Go Games’ Blitz in Cloghan on Saturday. Each team will play a minimum of four games. Due to the early start of 9:30am we will need to be leaving the village at 8:30am. Transport will need to be arranged. Please keep in touch with Fintan regarding arrangements.
