Seniors:

In the Monaghan Electrical Intermediate football League, Currin’s slow start to the season continued with two defeats last week. On Wednesday night last we went down away to Drumhowan on a scoreline of 2-15 to 2-6. Going into this game with a weakened panel due to injuries and midweek work committments, it was always going to be difficult. While we competed well for long periods wemissed too many chances and this really caught us out in the end. Team and scorers, Fergal Connolly, Dara Brady, Sean Brady, Colm Mc Caffrey, Paddy Mc Dermott, Ciaran Mc Caffrey, Ronan KingEoin Morrow, Dick Clerkin, (1-3), Jason Mc Kiernan, Ciaran Kearns, Johnny O Connor, Enda Mc Caffrey, Cian North, (0-1), Dylan Greenan. Sub used, Niall Mc Entee, (1-2) for Johnny O Connor. On Sunday we entertained Doohamlet, and in a much improved performance we were unlucky to go in at half time behind by a goal, 1-3 to 0-3. A couple of early scores in the second half saw the visitors build up a lead which was always going to be difficult to pin back. However we finished strongly and players and management alike will take confidence from this display for the latter part of the season. Final score Currin 0-8Doohamlet 2-11.Team and scorers, Fergal Connolly, Dara Brady, Paul Rudden, Sean Brady,Paddy Mc Dermott, Conor Mc Caffrey, Ronan King, Eoin Morrow, Ciaran Mc Caffrey, (0-3), Cian NorthCiaran Kearns, Jason Mc KiernanEnda Mc Caffrey, (0-2), Dick Clerkin, (0- 3), Niall Mc Entee. Youth Affairs

Under 16s

Partick Emmets travelled to Toome last week and came away with a very well deserved three point win on a scoreline of 318 to 5-09. That’s two wins from two with a trip to Tyholland on tonight, Thursday, 7:00pm throw in, for a game against the only other team in the division with a 100% record. Please support.

Under 14s

Our game last week was called off due to Inniskeen not being able to field. Next game on Thursday 7th May at Scotshouse v Inniskeen, throw in 7:30pm.

Under 12s

The final of the Spring Leage will he held in Cloghan on Saturday 2nd May at 2pm. Travel arrangements to follow by text. Training in Killeevan at 7:30pm on Thursday as usual.

Training as usual Saturday mornings at 9:30pm. The next GoGames are scheduled to take place in Rockcorry from 10:00 to 12:00 on Saturday 16th May for the under 8s and Saturday 23rd May for the Under 10s. It would be appreciated if parents would make themselves available to travel and perhaps bring a player with them if a lift is needed.

Minors

The U-18’s continued their impressive campaign with a home win on Tuesday 21th April against Doohamlet. This game, despite the final scoreline, was a tight affair with  Patrick Emmetts hitting a purple patch before half time to go in at the break 4-5 to 1-3 ahead. While always in control, the home side had to work hard and maintain their shape and discipline to keep out the visitors. Final score, Patrick Emmett’s 4-13, Doohamlet 3-07.
