Aughnamullen Notes

Lotto Results: Lotto Results for Sunday last. Numbers drawn were 04, 10, 18, 24, There was 2 lucky winner’s. Big Congratulations to Jackie Murnaghan, Laragh, & Sean Mooney, Carrickatee. Both win €2,750. Next weeks Jackpot now stands at €1,000. Lucky dip winners: Angie Geoghegan Duffy, Shane Geoghegan, Damien Hannaway, Peter & Jason Duffy, Danny Johnston & James Hannaway. Next weeks lotto team is: Janet Bannigan, Paddy Markey & John Hamilton. Lotto teams that cannot do their night must organise someone to fill their space. Seniors: Our Seniors played away to Currin on Wednesday last. See fixtures for results. They also play home against Emyvale this Saturday evening at 7pm. All Suport welcome. Training will continue every Tuesday & Friday Nights at. Everybody to be present. 


Reserves: Their next game is not until Wednesday the 6th of May away to Tyholland. 


Minors: Our Minor boys played Home against Corduff on Sunday morning last. What proved to be a tough game our boys came out top with a score line of Aughnamullen (2-14) to Corduff (2-13). They had hard luck when they played away to Toome on Tuesday evening last with a score line of Aughnamullen (1-12) to Toome (1-16). Our next game home against Emyvale on Tuesday next  the 21st of April at 7.15pm.. All suport welcome.

All players must have their OWN Gum Shields to All training session’s and All Games. Players will NOT be allowed to play without their OWN gum Shields.

AUGHNAMULLEN  JUVENILE:
Congratulations: Congratulations to Barry duffy who was selected to play in Croke park and represent Monaghan at under age level at the Monaghan v Dublin league semi final on Sunday last. This is a massive achievement for any young player so well done to Barry. Also to Martin Sheridan, Thomas Hamill & Sean Hamill who played in Clones at the Monaghan v Dublin game. Well done boys. 

Under 16’s

Under 16’s played their first league game away to Donaghmoyne on Thursday night last the 9th of April. Finishing the game on a good win with a score line of Aughnamullen (4-12) Donnaghmoyne (0-15). They now play tonight Thursday at home against Monaghan Harps at 6.30pm. All suport welcome. 

Under 14’s 

Under 14’s played away to Donaghmoyne on Saturday last the 11th of April. with a score line of Aughnamullen (-) To Donnaghmoyne (-). Their next game is at Home against Killanny on Monday evening the 20th of April. All suport welcome. Training continues on Tuesday and Thursday evenings.

Under 12’s. They play home against Latton on Saturday the 18th of April at 2pm. Come out and suport our young players. Training continues on Tuesday’s and Thursday’s at 7pm.

Under 10’s. Our young players played in the U10 Blitz on Saturday last in Killanny. We entered two teams at this age level and both  teams done very well on the day. Training will continue on Saturday mornings at 10am

Under 8’s. Hi All. Next Saturday the 18th of April is the day we all have been waiting for, our 1st under 8’s  blitz. Everybody to assemble at the centre for 9am. Please take boots, gumshields and water bottle with you. Look forward to seeing you all there. Any information needed on the above blitz please contact Paddy Murtagh  or Shane Mulligan. 

Under 6’sMeeting will take place this Thurdsay evening regarding this age group at 9pm. All Coaches and Parents interested in helping out please come along and attend this meeting. 


The late Declan Keenan: Last week news came circulating about the death of Declan Keenan, Creeve. Declan’s football career started when he was a member of the victorious St. Oliver Plunkett N.S. team which won the County Cumann Na Mbunscoil competition. He played all the levels with the club from U12 to Minor and was a member of the team which lost the Treanor Cup final to Inniskeenin 1999. He also  spent some of his youth playin Under age football with U16’s and Minor level. He continued into U21 & Reserve football with the club. He was a member of the 2003 reserve team which won the league against Aghabog. Declan was well got within the club and his apponent would remember him as a big towering full forward which would strike fear into any team. Sympaty is extended to his family, his Fiancee Gillian, Childred Jack, Danny & Amy. Parents Pete & Patricia, Grandparents Mrs Keenan, Mrs Mc Grilly, Brother, Kevi, Christopher, Michael & James. Sisters Elaine & Donna, The Hamilton family, relatives and friends which were numerous. May God have mercy on his soul. 


Sympathy: 

Sympathy is extended to the Gollogy family on the death of Peter Gollogy. Also to the Bishop family on the death of Seamus Bishop who died recently. May god have mercy on their souls. 

Social Centre: Aughnamullen Social Centre, Owen Bannigan memorial trophy singles pool final was held on Sunday 12th of April last with alot of tense moments between our two finalist Martin Mc Mahon  & Kevin Sheridan, Martin came out tops on a final score of 7- 6 to Martin, better known as Miley. Congratulations to Martin coming out tops and receiving the Owen Bannigan Memorial trophy from Maria & Eugene Bannigan on behalf of the Bannigan Family. Also well done to Kevin better known as Cheese on making it to the final. Booking now being taken for confirmation.

Under 10’s & 8’s: U10 & U8 girls training on Saturday mornings, we would very much appreciate help with this age group and to keep ladies football strong in our parish we would like to see girls that has retired from the game or have a littlie bit of time on their hands to come out and help coach this age group.

The club will be holding the registration evening on this Friday at 8pm in the centre, Can all players intending to play please be there the cost for the year is:

Strictly Come Dancing: Eugene Banngan is representing  the club in strictly come dancing that takes place on May 10th , tickets are out and are now on sale @ €20 each,contact any committe member for a ticket. 


Table Quiz:
Donaghmoyne John Paul 11 Awards Lourdes fund raiser: 
As part of fund raising events for students volunteering to help in Lourdes there will be a table quiz in the social centre on friday 24th April @8.30 pm 
Two local girls Megan Hannaway and Nicola Duffy together with the Donaghamoyne branch of the John Paul Awards 11 are going to Lourdes as volunteers in July ,
Their contribution to the fundraising events for the group is the table quiz.
They would greatly appreciate your support with this event.
