Congratulations: To Senior team sharpshooter Gary Wilson and Arlene Keenan who got engaged recently. Gary usually brings the defenders to their knees, so it was quite a change of pace for him to drop to one knee. Young Jack, who has all the makings of a footballer, must have thought that his Daddy was practicing a pre-match team talk, not knowing that this was a different sort of speech! Congratulations to all. 

Club Membership: Is now due, please note that membership fees must be paid before games commence. Adult Player €80, Student €20, Juvenile €10, Family €80.

Referee Recruitment: Trainee Referee Foundation Course will commence on Friday 6th March at Cloghan for new referees. Anybody from the club interested is asked to contact a committee member or John Mullen, Referees Administrator.

Well Done: To Ryan Murphy, Daniel Friskey, James Wilson, Frank Connolly & John Gorman who were part of the Our Lady’s Castleblayney squad who beat Ballymena by 11 points to 4 in the Danske Bank MacLarnon Cup semi-final. This sets up a hotly anticipated final with local rivals Patrician High School, Carrickmacross on St Patrick’s Day.

Coaching: For anyone interested in training as a coach, there are foundation level coaching courses running on three separate dates in March.  Please contact Irene or Ciaran for further information. Anyone who wishes to get involved in coaching or helping out with juvenile football this year would be most welcome, as more help is needed. 

Fixtures: This week marks the start of the action for 2015, with a reserve game on Saturday at 4:15pm when we welcome Clones to St Victors Park. The following Sunday, we host Killeevan at 12pm. The Senior team’s season commences on Sunday 22nd March at home to Killanny. The Minors division 2 campaign starts on Tuesday 31st March at home to Cremartin. 

Under 16s: Start date is Thursday 9th April.

Under 14s: This league starts on Saturday 14th March, with the championship commencing on Thursday 2nd April. 

Under 13 Blitz  – An Under 13 Blitz takes place in Cloghan on Thursday 12th March at 7pm.

Under 12: Spring league starts on Saturday 21st March at 2pm. Spring league finals day is Saturday May 2nd.
