Reserve League Division 1A

Our Reserve team get their campaign underway this Saturday away to Latton at 4:15pm

 

Minors Division 1

Due to confirmation in the parish this Saturday the first minor league game will now take place on Sunday at 11:30 against Sean McDermotts away in Threemilehouse. 

 

Allianz NFL

It was a disappointing result for the senior mens team with Mayo winning on a scoreline of 3-15 to 0-11. Next up is a repeat of the last 2 Ulster Finals with an away trip to Letterkenny to face Donegal. Throw in is at 2.30pm.

 

Shamrock Cup

Monaghan’s U21 team lost to Tyrone in the Shamrock Cup on Sunday last. Focus will now turn to the Ulster Championship in 2 weeks.

 

County Ladies

Well done to Abbey McCarey who made her senior debut for Monaghans against Laois at the weekend. Monaghan now sit top of Division 1 with 3 wins from 4.

 

Senior Ladies

Senior Ladies training continues Wednesdays and Fridays at 7.30pm, Sundays at 9am in Kilmore.

 

Ladies Reserve Game

Our Reserve Ladies earned a hard fought draw against Sean McDermotts on Saturday on a scoreline of 3-0 to 2-3.

 

U16 Girls

Training will take place in Kilmore at 6:45 on Thursday.  League is starting in 2 weeks so please make an effort to attend.

 

U14 Girls

Our U14 girls lost to a strong Emyvale side on Sunday in the Feile Competition.  Training will continue as normal.

 

Juvenile Registration Night

We held a very successful registration night last Friday with a massive turnout. It was great to see so many U10, U8 and U6 registering for our Future Blues Academy.

 

Scotstown Academy

Our U6’s will kick start the Future Blues Academy  this Sat 6th March at 10am inside the complex for boys and girls born in 2009 only. U8’s will start 21st March at 11.30am on the main field in Scotstown for boys and girls born 2007 and 2008. U10’s will start March 7th at 1pm on the main field in Scotstown for boys and girls born 2005 and 2006.


Help Needed

With numbers over 60 registered for our U8’s this year it is vital we get help from more ladies in the club. Any female coaches willing to help out on Saturday mornings with our U8 Boys and Girls, please contact Andrew Murray – 087-7778620.

 

Adult Club Membership

Adult Club Membership can be paid to our club Registrar Frankie McCarey. Non Playing Member €30, Adult Playing Member (Over 18) €30, Minor – €20. We hope to run an Adult Membership night in early March.

Ciste Draw

Irish Classes:

Ciorcal Gaeilge every Tuesday in the meeting room, sports complex between 8.30pm-9.30pm. Fáilte roimh gach duine.

 

Upcoming Coaching Workshops/Courses

Monaghan GAA are running the following courses over the coming months. 1) Foundation Coaching Course – March 6th +7th. 2) Level 1- Child 13th+14th March. Anybody wishaing to do these courses please contact David on 087-6202242. Remember you must have the Foundation course done at the very minimum to be involved with a team in 2015. In 2016 you must have a Level 1.

 

First Aid

First Aid Evening Course on Wednesday 11th March in Cloghan. 6.30-10pm. Cost: €35 per person. This course will deal with basic first aid for sports injuries. Maximum number of participants is 12 and it will run subject to us getting sufficient numbers. Club Shop

Our Club shop is open again on Fridays in the Complex from 7-8pm. Call down to get all your club team wear for the coming season. We also hope to have our Club Shop up and running online soon so you can purchase our apparel no matter where in the world you are.

 

Handball

Hard luck to James McCague who lost to Stephen Smith of Cavan 21-15 , 21-20 in the Ulster Singles U17 Final last Friday night 27th Feb.
