Seniors
Seniors continue training every Tuesday and Friday at 8pm and Sunday morning at 11am. Important all players are present.

Minors
Minor training continues this week on Wednesday 18th and Friday 20th from 7pm to 8:15pm on both days. It is vital that all players attend every training session as our first match is on 7th March. Could Minors please attend Senior training one night a week. U16s can train with minors if they wish until their own training commences.

U16
U16s this year will compete in the Division 2 League and Championship. The other teams we will compete with in Division 2 are Clones, Doohamlet, Emyvale, Killanny & Latton. This will be run as a double league competition with no shield. U16s can train with minors if they wish until their own training commences.

U14
U14s this year will compete in the Division 2 League and Championship. The other teams we will compete with are Donaghmoyne, Drumhowan (11 a side), Emyvale, Toome-Oram, & Truagh. Training dates will be announced soon.

U12
Training will commence shortly. U12s are in Zone C for the Spring league along with Carrickmacross, Iniskeen, & Monaghan Harps. It is from the Spring League results that their division will be decided. With regard to the U12 league Monaghan County Board have received a dispensation from Croke Park to trial run a new rule concerning the abuse of a match official. This is to deal with the verbal abuse of a referee at a match by a team manager or selector. The rule allows the match referee to alter their decision and award a free against the player fouled if the players manager, mentor or club official becomes verbally abusive, the rule also empowers the ref to move the ball 20 meters in such a case. This trial rule is for U12 age group only. Hopefully this rule will not need to be enforced.

Junior Academy & U8
The junior academy and Under-8 training continues until March for boys & girls born in 2007, 2008 & 2000 every Saturday in the community centre at 10am. They will remain indoors for a few weeks. Indoor footwear and gum shield are essential. New players are very welcome.

The opponents are St. Malachys Belfast. The game is fixed for Sunday 22nd February in Emyvale at 3pm. All support would be appreciated.

Referees Wanted
Without a referee we don’t have a game and the better the referee (generally speaking) the better the contest. Monaghan County Board are seeking referees for the new season. This is your chance to get involved. We all think we know better than the referee, now is your chance to prove it. Why not volunteer, if you think that you have what is needed to make a good referee then your club needs you. Training will be provided and the support of the county referee committee is guaranteed. This is an ideal opportunity for a young player or a recently retired player to make a further contribution to the game. There is a serious shortage for juvenile games so younger referees would be particularly welcome. More details can be found on the Facebook page or from the club chairman.
