Monaghan Harps Lotto: Numbers 5, 9, 10 and 14. Jackpot of €4,000 not won. Jackpot for Sunday, January 18 is €4,100 and Tessie Connolly and Seán and Kathleen Boyle are on duty. Tickets can be left into the clubhouse from 7.45pm each Sunday. Meetings: The first monthly meetings of 2015 take place this Thursday (January 15) in the clubhouse: juvenile at 7pm, senior at 8pm.

 

Draw: Tickets for the GAA National Club Draw are out now. Tickets cost €10 and the excellent prizes include trips away with the 2015 All-Stars and packages for the All-Ireland finals. Please return sold tickets to Jimmy Croarkin either at this Thursday’s club meeting or by this weekend.

 

Charity match: Sponsorship forms from our recent charity match yet to be handed in can be returned to Owen Connell, Mary White, Theresa McCaughey or the clubhouse. All money raised will go to the Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust, the organisation assisting the family of the late James Finnegan, who died tragically in Korea last month.

 

Membership: Membership fees for 2015 are being maintained as follows: €20 per adult, €10 per child or €50 for a family of two adults and any number of children. Money can be paid to registrar Dermot Coyle, Jimmy Croarkin or dropped into the clubhouse.

 

Awards: The Monaghan GAA Annual Awards night will be held in the Hillgrove Hotel on Saturday week, January 24, with our own Michael O’Donoghue, Yvonne Connell and Conor McDonnell among the winners. Tickets cost €30.

 

Upcoming events: We are delighted to again host Monaghan Arch Club at Gavan Duffy Park on Thursday, February 5, and to host the second Darkness into Light Monaghan 5km walk/run on the morning of Saturday, May 9.

 

Garda vetting: Club members who have received their Garda vetting clearance forms are asked to send a photocopy of same to Thomas McCabe. Anyone yet to fill out a form can contact Thomas on 087 7635891.

 

County teams: Our own Neil McAdam, Fearghal McMahon, Kevin Loughran and Evan Doherty have all been featuring in a busy early-season schedule for the county senior and Under-21 teams.

 

Coaching: Monaghan Coaching & Games Development are running a series of Coach Education programmes and there are also a number of coaching workshops coming up in Cloghan in the next few months. See the Monaghan GAA website for more details.

 

Congratulations: To Harps Under-16 player Ultan O’Rourke, who – along with fellow St. Macartan’s College student Louis Madden – won the Junior Intermediate Group of the Biological and Ecological category at last week’s Young Scientists exhibition.

 

Scór: Scór Sinsir is due to take place on Saturday, February 21.
