January 14th, 2015

Lotto Results. The numbers drawn in the Club Lotto on Monday, 12th January were 9, 16, 24 and 27. The Jackpot was not won this week. The four winners in the Lucky Dip were Rosemary Lynch, Magheracloone, Craig Whyte, Stranatona and Charles from Shercock. The next draw will take place in the clubrooms on Monday, 19th January and the Jackpot will be 2,300 euro.

Coaching Courses. If you are interested in completing one of the upcoming Coach Education courses please contact either the club’s Coaching Officer or you can get in touch with Monaghan Coaching & Games directly (gda.monaghan@gaa.ie/ 0872163580). Places are limited in each course so please get in contact as soon as possible if you are interested in completing one of the courses. More information is available from the Coaching Officer.

Strength and Conditioning. The Strength and Conditioning course will commence for all Under-14 and U-16 players on Friday evening in the Community Centre at 8p.m. This will be a six week course and we hope
that some of the later sessions will be held outdoors.
This course forms part of the pre- season training and all players are
requested to attend.

Pitch Development. Recent visitors to the football field would have seen that the work is continuing to ensure that all will be in order for the start of the new season. The fencing is being erected at the moment and the goalposts, ball-stops and dugouts will follow in the next number of weeks. The teams will begin training in the next week or so and the Development Committee will be working hard to ensure that all will be ready for the opening game.

Congratulations. For the second year in a row Magheracloone’s Lauren Jones has been awarded an Ulster Under-20 School’s All-Star prize. She, along with twenty-four others, has been selected to represent Ulster in the forthcoming Interprovincial Series. All in the club congratulate Lauren on her double achievement.

Membership 2015. The membership fee for 2015 is now due and can be paid to any executive member. You can also become a member online, which is easy and secure and can be done from the comfort of your own home. Health and Well-Being. At the recent monthly meeting the club executive decided to organise a CPR course for mentors and members. This will include instruction on how to use a defibrillator. There are a number of such defibrillators in various buildings in the parish and the club would like to have a number of members who would be trained in their use. Further information can be obtained from any executive member or from the Health and Well-Being Officer.
