Table Quiz: This Friday evening in St. Mellans at 9pm. All funds raised for juvenile hurling equipment.

Seniors: We were beaten away to Latton last Sunday in the league, 1-8 to 2-14. It was an hour of football to forget as we never found form. Though opening the scoring in the 2nd minute from Niall McMeel, we quickly fell behind and were 0-5 top 0-1 down before we scored our second point in the 19th minute from Rory Treanor. In the 23rd minute Latton got the first goal of the game and were comfortably in front 1-8 to 0-3 at half time. Though we reduced the deficit early in the second half with a converted Daniel McKenna penalty, Latton responded with their second goal in the 37th minute to kill any thoughts of a comeback. We ended up 9 points behind at the final whistle, 1-8 to 2-14. Our team and scorers were: Martin Treanor; Aidan Coyle, Niall Feely, Niall McQuillan; Eoghan Kelly, Rory Treanor (0-1), Damian McRory; Pauric Treanor, Niall McMeel (0-1); Niall Rooney, Niall Coyle, Chrissy McKenna (0-3, 1×45); Mark Couniahn, Daniel McKenna (1p-2f), Gary Todd. Subs Used: John Treanor for Pauric Trenaor (28mins – blackcard), Keith Sheerin for Damian McRory (40mins) & Ian Treanor (0-1) for John Treanor (54mins). We were due to play away to Currin last Wednesday evening. We play at home to Monaghan Harps next Sunday, 19th October, at 3pm in our penultimate league match of the year.

Reserves C: We lost out to Blackhill in the RFL Div. 3 final last Friday in Emyvale, 3-5 to 2-13. Though we were only a point in arrears at half time, 2-1 to 0-8, two quick goals from Blackhill early in the second half opened a sizeable gap we could not close. Our goals on the day were scored by Chrissy Meehan, Brendan Treanor & Aaron Treanor. This concludes the C season this year with us finishing runners up in both the league and the championship. Thanks to the players and management for their effoerts throughout the year.

U-16: The replay of the championship final was due to be played last Monday evening, 13th October, at 7.30pm.
