As part of the Positive Mental Health Week campaign, Monaghan Coaching and Games decided to organise a GAA GOLD event which would target older men. The main reason for targeting this group was to highlight the importance of social interaction with this age group. For the event itself we decided to show the National League final between Monaghan and Armagh. As part of the event some of the players directly involved in the game came along to support the event. On top of that Sean McCague, manager on the day was also in attendance. After the game was over a lively discussion which was lead my Sean McCaffery took place. We heard a number of good stories from the day itself and the celebrations after the game. Everyone who attended seemed to enjoy the night with some of the players commenting that it was the first time they had watched the game. Monaghan Coaching and Games would just like to thank Sean McCaffery for coming along and helping out on the night, Sean McCague and some of the former players for coming out and supporting the event, Emmett Flanagan for giving us the facilities in Cloghan and finally the staff in Solas for providing posters, leaflets and cards that where displayed on the night.
