Seniors:
Sunday afternoon was the Day all our Senior team had been waiting for as the lads took on neighbours Iniskeen in this years Intermediate Football Championship Final. This was a very tight, tense encounter with both sides having to work extremely hard to gain an edge. After a great start Donaghmoyne failed to capitalise on a number of good scoring opportunities throughout the game which they couldn’t afford to miss with Iniskeen punishing them at every opportunity. Unfortunately after a nervous finish the margin was the minimum and Donaghmoyne were on the wrong side of the result. Congratulations to Iniskeen on their victory and their return to Senior Football. Commiserations to all our team and managment. Theres no time to feel sorry for themselves though as they have a crucial league fixture this weekend regards reaching the league semi final. The lads take on Sean Mc Dermotts this Sunday away from home at 3 o clock. Come show your support for the team as they look to bounce back from last weekends disappointment and gain two big points on the road.
Minors:
The year doesn’t stop yet for our Minors as they will go on to represent Monaghan in the Ulster Minor Club Championship, date venue and time have yet to be announced so keep an eye on our Club Notes. Full attendance needed at training week in week out!
Mini Fontenoys:
Mini Fontenoys training has now finished up for this year. We’d like to thank all the young stars who turned out every week and continue to show great promise for the future ahead. We’d also like to thank all the coaches and parents who give up their time every week to help coach our stars of the future and without these the Mini Fontenoys would not bepossible and would not be the great success that it is.
