U16 League Final Result:

Patrick Emmetts 3-13 Toome 4-15

After a hard battle, Toome proved too strong for the lads last Sunday in Drumhowan. We started well scoring two fine points but within a matter of minutes Toome had come back and scored two goals and a point. Going in at half time, Toome led 3-9 to 1-6. Similar to the Championship final, our second half performance was much better than the first as we scored 2-7 in comparison to Toome’s 1-6. At one stage we had narrowed the gap to two points and had many chances in the last 5 minutes to level or even lead but unfortunately it was Toome who scored a goal in the last minute to win by five points. Hard luck to the lads who all year round gave us great games to watch and they can proudly hold their heads high.

Presentation Night:

Our Juvenile Presentation night to our U12, U14 and U16 teams will take place this Saturday night starting at 7pm in the clubhouse. Our U12 team won the shield final this year while our U14s and U16s both reached league and championship finals in their respective divisions, unfortunately losing narrowly on all four occasions. Nevertheless it has been a year when much progress was made at juvenile level so please come along and show your support to our underage this Saturday night.

Fixture:

JFL: We play Blackhill this Saturday evening at 7pm in Aghabog in our last home game of the year.

FUNDRAISING WEEKEND: There will be a bonanza fundraising weekend in Aghabog GFC clubhouse in aid of Monaghan Cancer Treatment Support on 7th and 8th November. On Friday the 7th there will be a table quiz with a table of 4 for €40. On Saturday 8th there will be a sponsored leg wax, beard and head shave followed by a monster auction!!
